WARNING !!! SPOILER ALERT !!! Lone Wolf enters in a Shadowgate 6 times. He is quite used to travel through the dimensions !!! The first time (book n.11) he goes in the Daziarn. There, the time flows differently from the normal stream we know, because every one that has power can forge space and time in the Daziarn. Lone Wolf stays in the Daziarn for some days. He returns at Sommerlund and 8 years are passed. All the other times are in the GM serie, and he always goes in the Planet of Darkness. There, he stays for short periods of time: minutes, hours. When he returns to Magnamund, few time has flown and he is still in time to complete his mission. This is what happens in books 16, 17, 18. Books 19, 20 are entirely set in the Planet of Darkness. Lone Wolf spends here more time (hours ? a day or little more ?). When he returns from the Planet of Darkness at the beginning of book 20, 1 year has passed since he entered the Shadowgate. So, what can we conclude from this ? Time flows differently from one dimension to another. Travels through the Shadowgate are like an easter egg: you don't know what it comes from them. QUESTION: Why didn't Gnaag conquer Sommerlund in 8 years of time ? It seems that all the darklords focused their efforts conquering lands for theimselves, and leaving the big cherry on the cake as a ' dulcis in fundo' for their master Gnaag.

Just to clarify something: book 19 is not COMPLETELY set in the Plane of Darkness. The planet that Lone Wolf is sent on is a planet of Aon, just like Magnamund. LW goes into the Plane of Darkness only at the end of the book. There's two reasons that explain why a whole year past on Magnamund during book 19: the fact that LW is on another planet (kind of a time travel) and the fact that he went in another universe where time is different. Otherwise, you are right about time passing differently in the Plane of Darkness.
