I made this thing for the Combat Profiler: johanr.mbnet.fi/CombatProfiler/You can select book-specific Random Number Tables. Something you might not have realized is that while books 11 and 12 share the same RNT, 9 and 10 also share the exact same distribution. Same thing for 6 and 7, where 5 has that same distribution. Overall the worst RNT is ( 5, 6, 7) and the best one is ( 9, 10, 11, 12.) There are scenarios for all custom RNTs where they are better than the default distribution, but at decently negative Combat Ratios (only one's that really matter) it's about 50 / 50. The Grandmaster RNTs are all visually different, but all have very similar distribution. 16, 17, 18 and 19 have the same distribution. 1, 2 and 3 have even distribution.

This is fascinating stuff.
I wonder if Seventh Sense uses the same RNT for all books or if it uses the customized RNT for each book. I've never looked closely enough to differentiate.
I find it a little surprising that the RNT was changed from one book to the next. I wonder why Joe chose to do that. Perhaps a subtle acknolwedgement that books 9-12 are a bit harder so a deliberate attempt to even the odds a bit?

My guess is that Joe didn't realize that distribution was worse than default.
