Bug Report: Book 22, section 105: after the fight you have to retrieve your Kai Weapon, the retrieve option is colored red and clickable but there is no weapon in the "Lost item" section, can't progress. Hardcore Mode seems broken, at least in the Kai books. It now allows (and forces) you to take additional disciplines above the starting five in each book. I think it worked as intended in the NO books, at least in the previous patch. Fixed. Thanks for the bug reports.

I echo the sentiment of everyone else here: Awesome work, UrQuan! Reality has hit me - My life has simply changed enough and my priorities are different enough now that it is a sad fact I will likely never get around to finishing what I planned to with Seventh Sense. I still consider it a general success, though, as I was able to complete the Kai and Magnakai Series, and especially considering that I, and opera singer/voice teacher, learned C++ programming just to make this thing... (not that it's programmed well, but it works.) Anyway, I look back at the last year or two, and my work on this project has slowed down to practically nothing. I am involved in a lot of performances and projects at work and in the community at present, and that won't lighten up in the near future; couple that with trying to be a more engaged spouse and father, and the truth hits: Seventh Sense is on the backburner indefinitely for me. However, I'm delighted to see that it's not on the backburner for others! UrQuan, you've done amazing work here! I just logged in today for the first time in months, and I saw your private message with lots of the changes you are making and proposing - you have my blessing to move forward full-steam ahead (not that you need it, but if you want it, it's there)! I feel like the project has been taken over by very capable and talented hands. When Christmas break hits next week, I will address some the questions in your PM, as well as list here in this thread some of the design goals and additions that I had planned/hoped for, in case those spark ideas for you and the community. I have some fun ideas that already have some ground work laid in the code... really cool stuff that I think everyone would enjoy. Thanks a lot Dave!

I have indeed found pieces of those planned features in the code. One of those functions already found some use, with that riddle in Voyage of the Moonstone.

Now with Dave's blessing we are moving back to the Lone Wolf series. A few hints added or rewritten, and several Grand Master awards are now attainable mid-book like in New Order. I could say, the more I work on the New Order awards the more I like those and dislike the Grand Master one's. There is some ground-work laid for an automated Hall of Fame submission process now, and the new Hardcore features are slowly taking shape also. Dawn of the Dragons released! (download)

This is really awesome! And the automated Hall of Fame process sounds neat. I never bothered with it before with the manual sending of files.
I have two (unrelated) questions:
1. Is it possible in Seventh Sense to copy profiles? I don't think there is an option for that, so I looked in the program files under profiles, but there is only data for the avatar pictures.
2. I know hardcore mode is in the process of changing, but I think this has been existing for a while now: in book 9 you can get "special" weapons either from Maghana or the Senate. In prodigy mode these weapons have additional CS and unique effects. In hardcore mode, Maghana's weapons are changed back to their basic original, while the Senate weapons all still have +2 CS, but without unique effects. Is this intentional and meant to stay like this? And if yes, why the preference of one route over the other?

It is possible but there are some measures in place to prevent cheating; copying your profiles will invalidate Hall of Fame submissions. The profiles are in C:\Users\....\Documents\Seventh Sense It was intentional. I presume the intent was that some of those "named" weapons that were not guaranteed to be available on a play-through, retained a CS bonus on Hardcore. If both "paths" had weapons with CS bonus then you would be guaranteed to get one. Won't stay like that on Hardcore, there is a whole new system in store for weapons. Don't want to hype you guys up too much though, so I will leave it at that.

Great, the profile copying works. I don't intend to use it for cheating purposes and especially not regarding the Hall of Fame. I'm very much looking forward to your upcoming changes. The hype is real

Damn. Gotta say not a huge fan of those timed awards. They're tough as hell to get. I've tried multiple times to get the 33 sec one in Flight from the Dark, but keep falling just short.

Will be nerfed in the next patch. Have you or anyway tried the timed series awards yet? The time limit is *much* more lenient with those but of course they are harder for other reasons, especially the Magnakai one which takes nearly an hour to get and you cannot die once (although not dying incidentally helps a lot with the time requirement!). For anyone who tries them, or the timed book awards, it would also help if you gave an estimate of how long you took.

Book 1 timed award: 33 -> 36 seconds. Book 3 timed award: 1 minute -> 2 minutes. Books 1-12 timed award: 50 minutes -> 60 minutes. I again chose to leave in some of the new Hardcore mechanics. Be a little bit careful if you have a run in progress (restarting might not do what you think it does for example!). A few hints added again, expanded Hall of Fame code testing, some section text bugfixes. Wolf's Bane released! (download)

Played through book 18 and 19 on BTB without SS. Worked great and it's nice to finally be able to play these with Seventh Sense. I really like the narrative in book 18, revisting all the old places. But it's crazy how the difficulty drops. Books 13 through 16 were a really good challenge, book 17 is like final climax crazy (and I love it), and then it becomes super easy (not counting fresh start).
I'm conflicted on the new hardcore mechanic, having to restart a series. It is a good tough (and frustrating) challenge, but I wouldn't want it on all my hardcore runs. Would be nice if it would be optionable, like a hardcore+ mode. Or I have to change a rule to make it custom mode, that would disable the series restart, right?
For example, I'm currently working on a hardcore run without healing discipline (and without SS). That is very damn hard and absolutely doesn't work with series restart. But it is a very cool challenge with a lot of planning (and of course even more rng). Finally all those potions get to be used! And they're barely enough.
Future GM award ideas (just my thoughts, what I would like): - 1-20 without healing discipline. - 1-20 without mindblast discipline. - 1-20 without mindshield and nexus. - 1-20 without alchemy and magi-magic.

Kai shouldn't be that bad, but GM might hurt quite a bit. Not sure about Magnakai. I guess we'll have to play and find out once all the mechanics are fleshed out. There might be some new boons added as well

Also, I figure that some of the GM fresh start awards are quite literally impossible at the moment. Would likely need some kind of prodigy overhaul / nerf.

Book 1 timed award: 33 -> 36 seconds. Book 3 timed award: 1 minute -> 2 minutes. Books 1-12 timed award: 50 minutes -> 60 minutes. Good man, thanks Urquan! Got the Book 1 timed award now after a few tries. The elusive potion though.... 4% chance of nailing it based on those rolls... now that's tricky. No wonder it's rated Expert.
