In the Youtube video - Joe Dever: The Life of a Lone Wolf! - at 14:00 Joe Dever speaks about the abortive attempts to turn his books into films. One thing he mentions is a pitch made by some middle-ranking executive to have Lone Wolf be some sort of superhero with a Brooklyn accent. Anyone happen to know (from conversations with Joe or otherwise) what some of the other ideas were which he described as ‘some of the most pathetic ideas I’ve ever received‘ ?

While it would have brought Lone Wolf to a new audience, I'm mostly glad there was never a Lone Wolf movie. Movies and gamebooks are just such different art forms and the interactivity (which is the huge selling point of a gamebook vs. a regular book) would be completely lost.
This is also why there has never been a good movie based on a computer game.

The Warcraft movie did really well in China. They *LOVED* it. There's going to be a sequel, I heard, possibly only releasing there.

You know, for me, I don't want a Lone Wolf movie or television series for the same reason I don't want a Zelda series. These are silent protagonists who have been made our own characters through our own unique readings. I don't want someone else's take on that to be canonized. I didn't even like "Skull of Agarashi" for the same reason.

Anyway, I do see where you're coming from but I am all for fan made Lone Wolf movies or series, which you can sometimes find.
