Heh heh, busted!
Anyway, I suspect that Ben and Co., being new to the publishing of Gamebooks, are just finding the right balance. First books' print run may have been a little large, second release has swung the other way. They will probably print a small second run of #24 before releasing a slightly bigger run of #25. Demand will be a little unpredictable though as folks will rush to buy the next one before it goes out of stock, then get complacent again when the next one or two after that stay in stock for longer.
I just intend to keep an eye on it every couple of weeks and then buy my copy as soon as it is released.

There are 3 main reasons why lw24 have been sold in less than 3 months: Of course, all this are suppositions by yourself (especially #3... Really?!?). So, my own supposition is that the most probable reason why it is sold out is this: books 23 and 30 are not sold out, despite the fact 30 is a brand new adventure never published before (which would had called for collectors to mass purchase them so they could sell at 200 pound each copy, just as you say). Since the more copies you print, the more money it costs you, I believe they didn't have enough money to print as many copies of 24 as of 23 and 30 all while working on 25 at the same time. 2) some retailers at eBay (such as foxvalley) mass purchase Lw24 in hope to sell them at 200 pound each copy. You complain about that but let me just remember you what you just posted on these forums. I ordered 8 copies of lw30 I bought too many copies of lw30. And i had no money left for lw24. I should have bought 8 copies of lw24 and zero copies of lw30. I buy to resell, i am not a collector anymore.

I suspect less than 200 copies of lw24 were printed and sold where there is a possibility that more than 650 copies of lw23 were printed. The ratio of lw23 to lw24 printed could exceed 4. I have just made an order with a reseller online for 3 copies of lw24 for 66.67 pound per copy including shipment cost.

I hope to sell my lw24 hardcover at 500 pound each in 2021.

Well that stinks a bit for me getting book 24. I didn't really have funds over Christmas (having spent a lot on gifts for others) and was still recuperating in January.
Went to try to buy the books today...and...sold out.
Hopefully they have another print run of it or it will be the first CE I've missed.

I really think that this is not the place for crowing about how much you are going to rip Lone Wolf fans off; especially as you mentioned earlier that you aren't keeping any copy for yourself. There are a lot of folks who missed out and with less scalpers trying to make a profit, maybe they would have been able to buy one.

There's no way I'm ever going to shell out anything like that sort of money for a book that got sold a few weeks ago for less than £17 plus p&p. Do people actually pay these sorts of prices? Who are they and has anyone ever met one? I'll sit tight and wait for a reprint or read the thing online. People can store the books up as much as they like, but a reprint satisfying consumer demand will just mean these books bought solely for reselling at inflated prices will sit in a box or on a shelf somewhere gathering dust.

It can get very silly when collectors are concerned. I would quite like to have all the books but I stopped at the paperback Voyage of the Moonstone at £30 (mint copy). Once you get to 22 and above the paperbacks get into crazy prices and sadly the hardback collectors editions are now also vastly inflated. I missed the original run, so just bought a couple of the cheap ones on eBay and after finding that I preferred the artwork of the original paperbacks, I am happy to stop there. I will be definitely buying the new releases as they come out, mind.

I don't know how you can stop them - could the publishers limit the number of purchases made by a single individual? That might make it a bit harder. Joe's son and the rest of the team putting these books together are doing it mostly out of respect for the wishes of the late Joe Dever who would have wanted as many established fans (and future fans) as possible to read his work and enjoy it in book form. I could say more on this subject but I think I'll end up saying something which contravenes forum rules. I just hope they do another print run of Rune War.

I get an email from the Magnamund store when I can pre-order a book. I think I just had to register with them.
I agree, a limit on books to the same address might reduce scalper's capabilities, but this kind of thing always goes on with limited stuff.

Ben just posted really good news on the official Facebook page.
The "something else" and the "definitive" edition of FftD both are intriguing!

I'll be bagging myself a #25Trails and #31 Dusk as soon as they drop. Other than the odd typo, I have been very pleased with Ben and Co's releases.
Good for those that missed out on #24 and hopefully #29. For myself, I would love to get a re-release of #21 and #22 collector's editions as it would be great to eventually have 21-32 in hardback.
Not sure we really need another FFTD release though. I wonder what it will include? Perhaps both old and new versions with their respective artworks? Still intrigued.

I regard a lot of the inclusions from FFtD revised that came out at the start of all this as going way too far. It isn't that Kai Lords couldn't have power/explosive crystals, I just don't think that Lone Wolf should be running around grenade spamming the Darkspawn in his first adventure. Also having a personal time clock seemed a bit much (one on the hallway is fine.) It isn't that Magnamund doesn't have somewhat advanced technology and craftsmanship, but that for the first book that should be avoided. I also think the story should end when LW gets to the King. No Helghast "Final boss battle" or any of that nonsense. The intimate, small-scale nature of this boy caught in a cataclysmic war, on the run, and maybe going to the Graveyard of the Ancients and first meeting Vordaks and Drakkarim up close is enough.
I also think it's an aspect of divine providence that he didn't fight at the battle (after all, NO Grand Master survived but this whelp does?) but rushed to do so and simply knocked himself cold. It's an accident but one appointed as a last gasp against Naar's schemes.

Anyone's thoughts on the Darklord attack on the Monastery as being maybe inspired by the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbour? A force gathered together which is then attacked from the air in a surprise attack, a warning coming too late. Though devastating, it's not enough for victory.
