I got two parcel notifications when I got home from work. I'm guessing they are the books. I have received my copies of lw30 and one of the copies suffered very bad shipping damage!! I only ordered one copy and while mine survived, only barely. There were to folded sheets of blank newspaper (the kind you use in packing/moving) on ONE side of the book but none on the other. I think books of this price and magnitude should probably be packed in plastic or even tyvek to protect from the elements, and a well padded box to protect from damage from handling, machines, falls, etc. I read it today and it continued Joe's work from Storms of Chai in the most substantive ways. It is an achievement of the characterization (even for the evil characters) we began to see more distinctly in Storms, and makes me wonder how all the books may have been in this regard, had Joe had full reign to write as much as needed. Is anyone going to start a spoilers thread? There is something in there that your character (I've always thought of him as True Heart) receives that is probably even bigger and more meaningful than any other speculation about the end of this series, and deeply moving if pulled off well.

Upon receiving the books, i got a very bad feeling when i noticed the dented corner of the parcel. The packaging with no plastic or bubble wrap was lousy. So disappointed!!

At least you got the extra version? Sorry to say, it was poorly packaged. If I were to pass anything along to Vincent and Ben, I'd say they have to make sure packages of a collector's edition book are guarded from elements (package getting wet) and crushed. Padding and tyvek or even simple plastic would be sufficient. Two folded newspapers sheets not even on both sides is insufficient. Don't take that as personal criticism, I doubt Ben would have approved of it directly. Just needs to be changed for future shipments.
Re: the book itself? A towering achievement! Loved it, only found a couple elements a bit non-LW, but no idea what was or was not in notes. Characters are more detailed, following the Storms of Chai, we linger more on certain episodes and choices, LW has grown up with its audience. And the hint of what is to come...I had to put the book down and reflect.

I too received a damaged book. It arrived today. Barely held within the cardboard. Before I even opened it, if you leaned the package left or right, you could feel the book moving. So not even held in tightly. No bubble wrap used at all. The book is still completely readable, and it's just the outside paper part of the cover that was damaged, but it was just quite poor to have not put it in bubble wrap to prevent damage occurring. Or they could have used a padded envelope. I send stuff overseas all the time, as I sell video games on Ebay. I ALWAYS use padded envelopes or boxes. And if the case of boxes, I always use bubble wrap. When you consider that we are a niche hardcore audience, you'd want to send us stuff, and for it to arrive in the condition that it was sent in. Please do better next time. Either way, the book sits proudly in my collection. I am over the moon on finally getting it .

Why don't you contact them via the website? I'm sure they'd send you a replacement dust jacket if you just ask?

Valuable comment made. Whenever i post books to my favourite eBay retailer Fantasydemon159, i always use food cling wrap (5 layers) to ensure that shipping damage is at the minimum. However, bubble wrap is still the best. The British pound has gone down and it looks cheaper than ever before to make another batch of purchase (i.e. 4 copies of hardcover 23), but i am not sure if they could survive the shipping impact in the absence of professional packing method.

I received my book today. It was packaged the same way many of you received yours, them book inside of a cardboard box with what appeared to be butcher paper for packing. The package itself was double taped, though, and fortunately hadn’t gotten wet or been rained on.
I absolutely cannot wait to read it.

I got my copy a week ago and had the same exact issues with packaging that many of you mentioned here. I can't say it was in a box, because the package more closely resembled some cardboard folded around the book and taped together in a few places, with no padding of any type inside. There was no need to open this because the book fell out simply by pulling on the areas where the cardboard was folded over. There were several pages of the book torn on the edges but surprisingly the cover was not damaged. Makes me wonder why they simply did not just put these books in small boxes because they would of been smaller and most likely cheaper to ship out and none of this damage would have happened...
