In case you hadn't seen it elsewhere, Megara Entertainment (the place to buy Grey Star and Aurora Snow) may be closing their doors, if they don't get funding by 2/28.
From the owner: ============
Thank you for sharing this page or for your donations. ============
Alternatively, they are looking for a new minor (1,5k to 9k euros, with no less than 1,500 euros, since no other minor shareholders in Megara have invested less than this) or major (10k euros or more) shareholder (individual or company - both are accepted - from any country in the world), to join their board of shareholders and help finance their 2019 challenges.

I would seriously not give Mikael at Megara any money. He has consistently failed to ship Kickstarter copies of Autumn Snow 2, despite selling them on his website. His Facebook page apparently shows him partying in Cannes, despite pleading poverty. He has not responded to Kickstarter backers offering to pay postage to get their gamebooks.
It will be sad to see the publisher of AS go under, but he has burned his bridges with KS backers.

I completely agree with Greg, that guy is a thief. Better that he goes out of business and the Autumn Snow series is picked up by an honest/decent publisher.

Ouch! He's pointing a lot of problems! But that "Air conditioning incident", I mean... just wow! Three months not working because your air conditioning is not working?!? You know, a single air fan could had done the job until you fix it! I've worked in much worst condition than that! With only 1,500 euros collected with the crowd-funding on an objective of 10,000, I think we can only say RIP Megara... That's the second project ran by Mikaël that ends with a lot of people not very happy about how they were treated (the other one: Magnamund Studios and the Lone Wolf MMORPG).

Scary! I had only good experience except maybe now due to I'm a kickstart supporter for Grey Star 2 book which will of course never happen and lost those money, but when order from the shop I got my items quickly and good. the site was down and now it is back up again? don't dare to buy anything now after reading the above: www.megara-entertainment.com/The mistake must be to have an office and high cost, if running this company from home and maybe a stockage for the books would reduce the cost a lot, something's not right here

Wow! I had no idea things were this bad with Mikael and Megara. I'm sorry for posting this! I, too, backed the GS2 Kickstarter. Won't make that mistake again. I understand backing a KS project is a risk, but there's got to be some kind of protection for outright fraud.

To be fair to Kickstarter, a lot of projects get funded and work. But, yes, there is no protection. I have backed over 40 and lost money on two, including GS2 (three if I don't get AS2).
To be fair to Megara, he has produced a lot of gamebooks and run several successful Kickstarters in the past. But that's in the past. Right now he is failing to supply books that he has to his backers.

Their website is back up and they are offering books for sale again. So either the Kickstarter was successful, or they are running a scam.
I would really like to buy GS1 but obviously don't want to pay for something I won't receive.

Probably something we have no idea about is happening. A guy in Sweden manage to trick his friends, neighbours, family into spend huge amount on money in his project, but there were no project, it was just to finance his online casino gaming. I'm not saying that is the case of Megara or anything, but when short of money can make the nicest person different.

One of the Kickstarter backers pointed out that it looks like Megara sold his stock of the Magnamund boardgame to the Italian LW distributor. I'm guessing that's how he managed to get some cash. How long that lasts is anyone's guess.

Has anyone purchased GS1 and not received their book?
I am tempted to go ahead and try, given I am doubtful this will show up for sale via Holmgard Press or via any other method anytime soon.

I ordered a copy of GS1 in January along with a few other gamebooks.
To cut a long story short, I raised a Paypal issue. Megara didn't have Greystar in stock but could get it reprinted within 12 days. I declined and had a refund for GS but received my other books soon after.
Nym90, I suggest you order it, if you want it. Make sure you pay by Paypal, then you will be covered if you don't get the book.

It's good to know we are dealing with a reputable outfit, even if there are delay issues.

Hello. As a Kickstarter backer of Grey Star 2, and Autumn Snow 1+2, If you get any of these titles from Megara, then FRAUD has been committed by Michael. As a backer that paid to support these initiatives, I have not received any response to my communications, and certainly no books. I did receive Grey Star 1 on Kickstarter, but absolutely nothing else. Sorry to be negative here, but I would not give any money whatsoever to Megara. If you have to rely on threats from PayPal to conduct business, not a business I want to work with. It is hard to never say never, but I also don't think I will ever again use the Kickstarter platform ever again, as they have absolutely no teeth to support backers who have obviously been completely victimized by fraud.
