Hi,
I am just going through book 29 - The Storms of Chai and I have just seen the Eye of Agarash description, specifically the part about Endurance recovery:
I have always played by the rules that there is only one type of damage and that you can use healing potions to restore this damage whenever you want, except right before a fight. When I was using Seventh Sense, I remember there was an option to use an extended Endurance damage calculation, in which there were 3 categories: combat damage, meal damage, and other damage. There are some hints in the books that suggest it should work like this (i.e. Laumspur description mentioning it restores health only after combat and Curing restores health points lost as a direct result of combat), but I still find the descriptions very vague. The Eye of Agarash description in book 29 does support this theory though if I am reading it correctly. Does this mean that meal damage and other damage (i.e. non-combat related Endurance loss in a book section) are essentially unhealable other than through Endurance restoration in a specific book section? What would you count as part of combat (i.e. someone attacking you with mindblast before the actual combat section) and what would you count as other damage? This all seems very muddled to me and the Action Chart does not provide you with any information about this, it just has one column for Endurance.
Has there ever been any consensus reached or had Joe Dever commented on how is this supposed to work?
Thanks for your help,

I am just going through book 29 - The Storms of Chai and I have just seen the Eye of Agarash description, specifically the part about Endurance recovery:
Normally, a healing potion of Laumspur restores 4 ENDURANCE points when taken after combat. When using it to restore ENDURANCE lost due to the power of the Eye of Agarash, you may only restore the actual number of points lost. For example, if you lose 3 ENDURANCE points due to the effects of the Eye (as is the case here), and then you take a potion of Laumspur which normally restores 4 points, you will only regain the lost 3 points. The extra point of ENDURANCE is not gained and should not be added to your ENDURANCE score.
