And I say again, JD did an excellent job of varying the skills enough to make each person's choice of LW a personal interpretation, yet maintain the character of LW and Magnamund as a whole. I think that is why I like the LW books so much. Each person can be LW and no one is right and no one is wrong and any choice of disciplines (even supposedly weak ones) can work together to make a balanced character. Animal kinship and it's ilk give little touches that make some things easier, like fighting on horseback, ( sorry to all the power gamers or threshers of wheat). I suppose I should end this honestly by admitting that Animal kinship is 'my' least prefered skill.

I'm so glad that wheat thresher line stuck--glad enough that I have added it to my (first) signature, along with my other two titles.

I just remembered I didn't mention the most important reason for having Huntmastery as a starting discipline at Book6, not only does it help with reaction type dice rolls ( to avoid or reduce damage), it is also the only discipline that helps with TWO lore circles. The bonuses combined for completing both the Fire and the Solaris circles is not insignificant, and it's possible by the start of book 7( however Lore circle of Spirit is such a help for Book 11, so I am not disagreeing just making the decision more difficult.

Weaponmastery gives me a +3 to my Bow skill, so I can get a certain useful Special Item (I also use the dual-wielding rules so it gives me a total of +4CS in combat too). Dual-wielding rules? What are those? *Where* can I find them?

Hi Edsan, welcome to the boards. The reason you can't find any dual-wielding rules is because there aren't any--no official ones, anyway. As is written in the Rules FAQ Sticky thread on this board: Hmm . . . I see the Proboards upgrade has broken the FAQ somewhat. Annoying.
