Suggestions improvement for making the game easier on demand

Hello GDV.

First of all, you have all my respect and gratitude for making the LW Saga app a near-perfect enjoable experience.
I play with Lone Wolf Apps many days per week. I am a huge fan of Lone Wolf and I think that tablet format is the best enviroment today to enjoy the gaming experience.

I made a comparison between Lone Wolf Saga, Lone Wolf New Order and Kai-Chronicles.
Think of this as "feedback from the market".
This is my personal opinion of what features are more important than others. Of course different people will have different opinions.



The purpose of this thread is to ask for further improvement and development, to implement addditional features.
I believe that Lone Wolf Saga is popular (do you know how many Downloads you achieved from Play Store?) and could achieve even more.

Most important in my opinion are:
1) Manual RNG (I just reload the first profile creation multiple times until I get "9" for Combat Skill, or just reload book 13)
2) Free Save game (it is available, but with buy slot option, which of course is a design choice).
3) Extended combat table (projectaon.proboards.com/thread/2055/expanded-combat-results-table)

4) If I can dream, I would also ask to have the option in book 13 stats to "just increase your current values of CS and END by 10 points" and keep legacy Kai and Magnakai Disciplines bonus.
5) please let me install the Dessi Stone on the Bronin Warhammer weapon for +1cs and double damage VS undead. Now it does not seem to work. 

It would be nice to have a feedback from the developer on what is possible to code.
If it is a pay-on-demand feature, it will be nice anyway and I will consider it.

I invite also the forum readers to add their feedback.

Hi Kurz,
regarding your suggestions, I can tell you that:
1) a manual RNG result chooser will never be implemeneted in Lone Wolf Saga; the main reason for it being that lone Wolf Saga was born (around 8 years ago) as a way for me to play Lone Wolf without cheating. So everything in it is balanced and implemenetd in order to try and prevent as much cheating as possible. The only concession I have made to this rule is the Bookmarks functionality, just because of the overwhelming amount of requests for a way to save progresses I have received from my Players (BTW, I currently have some 15k active players, having had, in the past years, a maximum of around 33k)
2) I am considering the feasibility (and ups and downs) of having a free Bookmark slot in Lone Wolf Saga if Grey Star Quest is also installed, and also the viceversa
3) I honestly have never saw that Extended Combat Table, I will give it a look and try to come up with a way of incorporating it in the App
4) At the time I started delving into the Grand master series, I tried to come up with the best solution to try and keep a balance in the game, I should check if this alternative way to handle the Grand Master series can be adopted (and the complexity of managing it in the current codebase that is quite "tentacular")
5) To be honest, when I read the section regarding the Dessi Stone I really thought that only normal Weapons (and not Weapon-like Special Objects) could be infused with it, does anyone know if this is written somewhere or it's just my (wrong) remembering?

BTW, I was really really convinced that I had implemented the "Ignite Weapon " feature. I have to crawl the codebase and check for it, and add it in case it is missing. I can not exclude that the functionality is there but it's missing the interface to use it...

Also, regarding your "wishlist", I remember reading somewhere (and I could also be wrong on this argument, too) that Healing Potions, such as Laumspur, Laumworth and so on, couldn't be used in Combat. Don't ask me where I could have read it because I really have no idea.

I am simply talking about Quality of Life. To have the stats that I need, I need to reload the page many times until I get the numbers I want...
I would advocate that there are already plenty of ways to "cheat" your fights in LWS, from dual wield weapons (Sommerswerd + Helshezsag), "easy fight" feature, options to avoid difficult fight sections if you have the Sommerswerd, ...
This is all good, in my opinion, because you leave the choice to the player: to play hard mode or easy mode (the same way it was in the original books).
If you make it too easy, people will get bored; if you make it too difficult, people will quit it. Balance is important.
With the other apps I personally use manual RNG just to define initial setting of CS / END, for the rest I enjoy playing with auto-RNG, even if sometimes I have to restart.

The extended combat table would provide more balance if you want to reroll your stats in book 13 and you don't have Healing / Curing. It makes no sense that with fights with +20CS you sometimes lose so much END...

According to my knowledge, the Bronin Warhammer found in book 6 is a normal weapon (the only one providing CS boost).

I agree with Laumspur Potions, it is specified that they restore END after combat, but Alether should be nice to use in combat, not before (you need to remember to use it!) :-)

Man, that burns me EVERY TIME I'm reading/playing through the books using software. Click to start fighting the enemy in this section -- oops, wait, I wanted to use Alether here.

Just a quick update: the new release, available (hopefully) in a couple of days, will let you use Alether and Adgana directly from the Combat interface, infuse the Bronin Warhammer with the Dessi Stone in "The Deathlord of Ixia", and correctly use the Ignite Weapon feature.
