The Italians are about to get their version of book 27 CE later this month. And once again, Alberto Dallago made some subtle changes to the original cover from the English version.

For the last time (unless we get a surprise with 32.1 and 32.2), Alberto Dal Lago made subtle changes to the cover of book 28 in Italian vs the CE. Attachments:

Love it! Although I have to admit I'm not sure what it is supposed to represent. Plagazar, perhaps? Doesn't match the description in the book, but it has green eyes and the location seems right. Interesting title: Dungeons of the Dead, if I am to believe Google Translate.

Just a quick remark: for book 27, the last cover is from Vincent Books, not Gallimard.

About to go to sleep so not putting them on the first page yet, but so I don't forget, there's two Vincent Book editions with new covers for the 40th anniversary. First, for Flight of the Dark: the unmistakable art of Gary Chalk, this is originally from a recent print he made for a Ukraine appeal with Holmgard Press, though this is its first time being used as a cover. Then for Hunger of Sejanoz: Very different but I do rather like it. It's by Anna Chiara Stagi who I've not heard of before today.

I was about to post it here but you were faster. However, I have to correct you about Gary's artwork: it was originally made for the cover of the French version of the LW RPG (the first one by Mongoose) by Le Grimoire back in 2007. The book is out of print and Le Grimoire doesn't have the rights to make LW products in French anymore.

The Italians are going nuts with cover variants for the 40th anniversary. From what I understand, they will make variants for all five of the books of the Kai series. For now, apart for book 1 which has been already released, only the variant for book 2 has been revealed and it is not something new (well, it has never been used for the Italian version so far AFAIK). We'll have to keep an eye on the next covers they will revealed, in case something new comes up. They will also bring back the special cover made by Giuseppe Camuncoli for book 29 back when it was launched. At the time, it was limited to only 100 copies. Now more fans will be able to get it. You might need to modify your comment on it in the original post.

I have answers for you, Lorddarkstorm, regarding the Dal Lago front cover illustration of The Plague Lord of Ruel.
You've written this: Dal Lago goes with...I'm not sure what. It looks like a Hydra with Plague Hound heads, but I don't remember anything like that in the book...it's nice though.
Francesco Mattioli, the Holmgard Press official cartographer, said this on the Lone Wolf Gamebooks Facebook page, a couple of days ago:
This is the first cover I personally commissioned to Alberto Dal Lago, and still one of my favourites. I'm happy we decided to show the Giganites, which were never being illustrated before.

Cheers, added to OP. Thanks for the heads up on the reissue of Giuseppe Camuncoli's cover too, I will see if I can order it. One of the best pieces of LW art ever. As if in answer to their gleeful cacophony there arises, from out of the black shadows of the pits, a dreadful rumbling roar. Something huge is stirring deep within each of those dark forbidding shafts. As the ghoulish laughter reaches its pitch, three giant, misshapen cat-like heads rise up into the light, each perched atop a snaky body as thick as the trunk of a tree. They bare their fangs and shake off the tangle of human bones that cling to their stinking, corpse-green manes.
The sight of these unholy creatures makes you reel back in shock and utter a cry of disbelief. Your cry is lost among the barrage of screeching howls, yet the cat-things react as if they hear it and, together, they come oozing out from their dark, noisome lairs and glide slowly towards where you stand.Cat-things! This time, they brought back the cover from Megara made by Pascal Quidault for GS1. Shame they didn't go back to Gary's LE cover or even further back to Iain McCaig's cover. I kind of find this one to be a bit generic mage.
