According to Cure you receive +1 EP for every non combat section of story.
In The Prisoners Of Time, which I just finished, I beat the Chaos-master with only 7 EP left. The pages right after this victory have you traveling for 100hrs through a forest with plentiful game and rest.
It makes sense that at this point your EP would be fully restored, but page wise you're only up 2 EP.
It just doesn't make sense that my EP would be so low even though i spent days eating well and resting. Also If I'm so injured shouldn't I have taken time to heal before proceeding?
For reference here is how i finished the game as per the rules but it just didn't seem right:
I beat the Chaos-master with only 7 EP left. Shortly after I face a monster that caught me with 12 EP and was killed so restart back at Chaos-master victory section. Second time got to the Shadow Reavers. Killed. Back to Chaos-master. Third time I pick a different path that will get me more non-combat sections to restore EP via Cure but I lose again later in the game. Fourth time I finally get to Vonotar the Traitor with 4 EP and win because of an instant kill.

You should defenitely use potions (Silver Flask +8END), Haina (+5END) and Senara (+3END, infinite supply) immediately after Chaos Master fight. You can cure some END after the Shadow Reavers, but still little recovery. The book LW11 is really hard, even with max CS, Scion-Kai level, perfect choice of disciplines and full equip (all Special Items boosting CS and END). I recommend bringing the Sommerswerd and at least 2 Alether Potions (better if you have the Concentrated Alether Potion +4CS from LW03). Good luck!
