Got confirmation that Matthew (Matt) Casale was the artist behind the covers of the Junior Editions: linkUpdated my previous post.

All updated. Cheers for finding out about Matthew Casale, Black Cat. Have also added the artist of the Huntress trilogy (Christopher Shy). I haven't given ADL's VB art the 2 designation as I don't find it different enough from his original versions, just like with PAJ and his Gallimard/Red Fox art. His book 24 art warrants it as it is clearly different, even if I was too dumb to notice it at the time

Ah, since we now know that Holmgard will reuse the covers from Vincent Books for 13 and 14, maybe you should update the list for Holmgard?
In fact, from a print catalog that I've found online, all the GM and NO books will reuse the covers from Vincent Books.

Yeah, good point, will add 13/14. Was looking at those covers the other week in case ADL had made changes like he has with VB, though the Holmgard ones just look slightly zoomed in versions of VB editions (assuming they're final).

Oh, I've just noticed something: for Mantikore, you list them as 1st edition (English) and 2nd edition (German). Maybe you should list them by language instead? Also, the German version (1 to 20) uses Alberto's covers from Mongoose. Since you list the ones from Holmgard and from Vincent Books although they are the same, you should probably do the same thing with Mantikore.

You're right, that's more an artifact of how those were tracked before Mantikore started it's second edition. I decided to just add them all to first edition and shade the ones that were also released in English.
I'm still unsure why Mantikore changed style and redid 21 & 22. I wonder if the previous artist was out of their budget once they were only doing the German releases. But then they could have gone back to ADL covers like Joe did and shared the cost, and in any event Joe did use Victor for 23 since the art was already done...

Mantikore only published 21 and 22 in English in the CE format, so they needed to respect the style Mongoose used. After that, for the German version, which came out after they lost the rights for the CEs in English, I think that for marketing purpose, they release it as a seperated series (Die Neuen Kai Krieger) with its own graphical style, just like they did for the Grey Star series. After all, the NO series has never been published in German before.

And so the German versions would have lagged behind because Mantikore had to pay for a totally new localisation which would have taken time.

Since you are listing the 40th anniversary covers by Vincent Books, you are missing the one for GS1 by Pascal Quidault: link
