In the DE of book 1, it is stated that King Ulnar V's chancellor is someone by the name of Galden, with no more information given. The Magnamund Companion (page 51) however states that Baron Tor Medar of Tyso "holds the office of Chancellor of the Realm, and is one of the King's most trusted advisors". Are they two separate positions, different points in time or perhaps an inconsistency?

Wow. That is quite a catch. How did you happen to notice that?
Here is a mention of Baron Tor Medar of Tyso in The Magnamund Companion.
Medar shows up in Dawn of Dragons, Wolf's Bane, and Curse of Naar, but I don't see any mention in those books that he is the Chancellor of the Realm. I don't have the definitive editions.
Other people around here will know more about this than I do.

Thanks Rune Owl I think I may have solved it though (SPOILERS FOR ENDING OF BOOK 1 DEFINITIVE EDITION AND BOOK 3): The Magnamund Companion does talk about (on the same page) how the Fryelund had been given to Lone Wolf, which happens at the end of book 3, so Tor Medar must have replaced Galden who died at the end of book 1. I was sort of excited that I may have found an inconcistency but I think it all lines up as the companion is set in a future point in time after Galden's death.

I thought it happened at some point after The end of Book 3 but before The start of Book 4. but I could be wrong What are you referring to? Galden's death definitely happens at the end of book 1 DE and Lone Wolf is given the Fryelund between book 3 and 4.
