As has been discussed many a time, we know that as you progress through the adventures (MK -> GM), CS can become wildly ranged for different choices/players. A -8CS or below is practically a death sentence, +8CS is practically a certain win.
In the Kai adventures when LW and enemies sit between 15-20 in CS, you don’t get much discrepancy. It’s common for you to be within 5CS of your enemies.
But in GM books, CS can be anywhere from 35-50! A huge discrepancy - and a huge possibility for enemies to be too trivial or too hard!
So - my solution? MK and GM books should have updated CS ratio tables.
That stretch out the CS ranges a bit more. Instead of +/-11, make it +/-15 in MK and +/-20 in GM.
Now, a -8 in GM books, though fairly possible to occur, is almost like a -3 from from the Kai series - and certainly doable, instead of near impossible.

It already (partially) exists: check page 7 of this PDF of Newsletter #29. link (note the typo for the +1/+2 combat ratio with 0: LW should not lost any points, instead of -5 like it is written there). This table only shows when the combat ratio is positive (+) but it should be pretty easy to make the extension when the combat ratio is negative (-).
