? Based on the ones that have been transcribed so far, what's the average time between transcriptions onto the site? I figured there were zillions of books, but I've managed to go through 6 within the space of a couple of days

It varies based on the amount of time that the volunteers have to devote to proofreading and such. I think book 3 of Grey Star is due out next, followed by book 16 of Lone Wolf. At least I think I remember 16 is next.

Historically, the time between the appearance of new books has varied between one and slighly above seven months. I don't think an average will help much when it comes to guessing when the next one will be up. It's a number of variables that determine how long time it takes, but the absolutely most important one is the amount of free time available for a bunch of key resources. Right now I am the worst bottleneck for Grey Star 3 so I can say it's at least 3 weeks away. For Lone Wolf 16 we have not even identified the bottleneck yet, I think. Whether this is good or bad remains to be seen

I'm more interested in roughly how long we should expect the GM series (13-20, not necessarily the New Order stuff, though I'm itching for that too to be completed - I think I'll hold off on starting the series until it's there to finish, 'cos I know the break will get on my nerves otherwise. Are you still looking for help transcribing/editing? It's possible I might be able to help out at some point in the foreseeable future (though, ironically, all my time at the moment is being taken up by an editing postgrad course!).

Actually, I recently asked the same question. For a detailed answer, check out the "Project Aon Projects" thread in this same section to read the advice Outspaced gave me.

I think I'll hold off on starting the series until it's there to finish, 'cos I know the break will get on my nerves otherwise. You should go ahead and start reading. Much of the excitement of reading the Lone Wolf books for me was the wait, the anticipation. After reading section 350 I would bask in happy bliss for a bit after getting my latest fix, then start to wonder what the next adventure had in store for me and what discipline to take next, etc. There was a more satisfying feeling to growth that perhaps felt a little more justified by the long wait, much like progressing ranks in a martial art. But then, that's just me. I enjoy a good, slow progression so I can appreciate the steps I've taken to get there. Nerethel
