Hello,
This is my very first post here, so hello again and thank you for all the great work you freely provide to all of us.
I have a little question about the legal status a new traduction of J. Dever work would have, and about the eventual benefit there could be in making one.
I suppose the original french traduction is the property of the related french editor, and could not be published without this editor agreement even if J. Dever wished so.
However, how would a genuine new traduction be legally considered? Could J. Dever grant his compliance to a volunteer if he wished (assuming he would keep all his rights and of course could refuse it in the end if this new traduction appeared to not fit his quality criterias)? Or is the publication of any other traduction forbidden by the argeements between J. Dever and his french editor?
If an entirely new traduction was a real option, I would consider working on it so it could be made freely available on this site.
As you probably already noticed, my english is not as perfect as it should. However, I am able to understand J. Dever texts without any mistake. And please believe I'm a lot more skilled in french, so to say. I think I may be able to establish an accurate traduction which would reflect J. Dever's own style, and keep all the artistic value of his work.
Let me know if this could be interesting, and could find a place in the great work you're doing.
Best regards,
Y.T.
