The first thing I thought was - "that name is going to create some confusion". "Lone Wolf RPG" will to most people mean that soon to be released Mongoose product.

I thought it was one of those online multiplayer RPG things.

What are we talking about, exactly? If you are talking about the thread above this one, then maybe "Statskeeper Alternative."

Understandable confusion - when I first saw the name of this forum, I thought it referred to the Lone Wolf multiplayer RPG from Mongoose, until I read the description. To clarify as best I can, this forum discusses a program (?) for use in playing the online Project Aon books. I believe it's some sort of character tracking program, but having not used it I'm not 100% sure. The Mongoose RPG based on Lone Wold (D20 product, I believe) would likely be found in the Auxilary Creations forum. As for interactive forum based roleplaying, as far as I know there isn't such a thing here, though I'm sure if enough people wanted to and the moderators were willing to put in the time to create and monitor one, we could get something started. The Fighting Fantasy forums are set up very similar to this, and have both interactive stories and adventures there.

I am returning to the world of Lone Wolf after a long hiatus. It has been many years since I delved into the pages of a gamebook which is a direct result of Red Fox ceasing publication of the New Order series. Inspite of this prolonged absence, I have often recalled with great fondness my virtual exploits in the world of Magnumund. Trudging through the frozen wastes of Kalte in pursuit of the apostate Vonotar, braving the treacherous, murky swamps of the Danarg in a bid to uncover the fable lorestone of Ohrido and being stranded in the abstract, eerie realm of Daziarn. It is a testimony to the evocotive power of these adventures that I remember them with such unfettered clarity all these years on and I am delighted to see that the LW universe still has an active fanbase that takes the time to organise these websites. I realise that my contribution is not directly related to the thread but I didn't quite have the audacity to start my own and as this was my first post I wasn't too sure where to begin. Lastly, rumours are abounding that Mr Dever is planning to re-release ALL of the LW books with additional content. Is there any truth to this?

Hi Avarius Welcome to the forum. You should've posted this in a different topic; people might miss your first post here! Joe does indeed intend to re-release all the Lone Wlf gamebooks with additional content and all-new artwork. For more information, see this thread and this thread on our forum for more details. Hope it helps!

My apologies outspaced for using the wrong forum to deliver my first post, I shall endevour to place all future contributions in the appropriate forums. Your links to the the Mongoose info were recieved most gratefully, it seems that Lone Wolf is not only still active in the 21st century, it is undergoing something of a rebirth, with an array of projects currently in progress. I was about to start rambling on about the re-imagined Flight From The Dark but this isn't the right place is it lol. Once again thank you for the info outspaced and I look foward to being a regular member of this site.

No worries! My comment about posting here wasn't serious, but people might've missed your post in this section. So they won't have had the opportunity to welcome you themselves. We're a friendly community, after all.
Even the moderators are fairly nice. ;D

I agree this should be renamed to avoid confusion Does anybody know if this project is still live? I am compiling a list of active projects and will make it available from the developer pages shortly.

Yeah, why wasn't this renamed ages ago?
And no, I don't think it's active anymore...
