I know there's been talk of Lone Wolf as a movie... but wouldn't it be cool (and in some ways easier to do) as an Anime?

When you say 'Anime', do you mean 'an animated movie' (i.e. Disney), or 'Japanese-style animation' (i.e. Miyazaki, Slayers, InuYasha, et al)? I think it would be rather horrible if animated in the western style. But an honest-to-goodness Lone Wolf anime would be great! Of course, they'd have to invent some special combat moves for him to shout out each episode, ("Lone Wolf Fury!" ) and perhaps he'd need a cute talking animal companion and a transformation sequence that lasts about 1 minute and can get recycled in future episodes in case they're running short, and a harem of cute, busty girls chasing after him (and Q****** would obviously be a violent tomboy, so we all know they end up together ). I'd watch it. ;D

Urgh! That would be vile beyond all rational comprehension. Lone Wolf as an anime would be terrible. Granted, I hate anime with a passion, so I'm not the most unbiased person in the world, but really... Urgh!

I wouldn't like to see Lone Wolf in this kind of show, with all the things that you described. But I pretty much like the style of the drawings of the Japanese anime. They should make that series with this art style, but the scenario would have to be closer to what we see in our own animated movies.

I wouldn't like to see Lone Wolf in this kind of show, with all the things that you described. I was being flippant and just a tad sarcastic. Forgot to mention that the Skyrider would have to be changed to a giant robot instead of a flying ship. But personally, I rather dislike "serious" anime; I think it almost always ends up being overly-violent and pretentious. So Black Cat probably has a very valid point.

Forgot to mention that the Skyrider would have to be changed to a giant robot instead of a flying ship. It would be a cameo of a Transformer! Ahhhh, good old times...

The only way I can see Lone Wolf as an anime is with one with that kind of scenes. You know, the ones where the Barraka summons an Akra'neonor and it does funky things with Madelon on the stone slab.

That's a Lone Wolf hentai. And they've got that already, actually.
No, I meant Japanese Animation, not Disney Animation.
I'm a serious Anime watcher, seen 198 series, own about 50, plus some mangas. I also spent a summer giving speeches on Anime to companies like Disney who want to get in on the anime action. I was up in Vancouver, BC for a while, if any of you know of the Vancouver school of Art: VanArt.
I think Lone Wolf would have to be a long running series, which would give them the chance to be serious when needed by the plot, but to throw some adlib humour in as well. I was thinking of Lone Wolf doing things like passing his hand over a wound on his shoulder and having it close (Kai Healing) and thought that things like this would work excellently in an Anime.
Ghost Bear... have you seen Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence? Or Princess Mononoke? Or Grave of the Fireflies? Boogiepop Phantom? Perfect Blue? These are some excellent and very serious movies. All more poignant and interesting than most Live Action I can think of.
But we're all titled to our opinions. I just want to make sure that you're not judgeing anime based off of DBZ, Pokemon, and Sailor Moon.

I just want to make sure that you're not judgeing anime based off of DBZ, Pokemon, and Sailor Moon. That's a good idea! The fight between Lone Wolf and the Gourgaz could be spread over three episodes featuring lots of recycled footage and unnecessary posturing. And maybe to get the fangirls on board, there could be some implied yaoi action between Lone Wolf and Banedon. OK, I'm going to stop now . . .

Ha Ha Ha Ha Oh, and yeah, they do have a hentai. One really really rare one for a manga series called Lone Wolf and Cub (not based on Lone Wolf of Dever fame) and another really really really rare one that some Japanese guys who knew Dever's work made about, oh, ten years ago (?). Anyways, it's not online anymore, so I think it's about passed out of existence. It held only slight relation to Lone Wolf the book. Just the Darklords torturing some busty and quite scrumptious peasant girls. Because of course you have to have tentacle sex in the course of taking over the world.

Someone actually wrote/drew a Lone Wolf hentai dojin?? Or you mean an actual hentai anime?? The world is a really strange place. Particularly in Japan.

Oh, I'm sorry. I mean doujin. Not a full motion picture. Just a manga hetai.
Yeah... it's strange all right. Although, I can totally see the Darklords raping young girls. If not for the lack of sexual reference in the Lone Wolf series, I wouldn't have been suprised at all.

You never heard about the thing Madelon did to Lone Wolf in thanks for rescuing her? ;D I'll let your imagination think about it...

You know, I always wondered about that. I mean, maiden's are quite thankful, generally...
Of course, you forgot to mention what Lone Wold did to Madelon while she was still in trance.
