Hi all,
I am in the works of planning a low tech web based RPG of lone wolf. To allow players to have a single account to play all of the books and allowing them to keep inventory, stats and skills.
I am also thinking of a small levelling up system where players can gain a +1(or more) to a chosen stat as they proceed to another level of the Kai.
Also in the brain is an arena concept where players can fight one another to try out if the different skills and strategy.
One thing I would like to know is, are there any differences in terms of combat, inventory and character where it can affect players from moving across books?
Do let me know your thoughts on this.
Thank you for reading.
PS: I have stopped reading Lone Wolf series ever since my mom threw out my collection when i was very young, and not able to buy them cos not retailing anymore. So please pardon my noob-ness.

Both this forum and www.towerofthesun.com have all that and more. If you are going to try and stick to "canon" from the LW Game Books, then this forum is the best place to look, not only is it accurate, the good people here have found all the little problems and fixed them. Al

The game will be true to the book, will try to cover the whole of LW series of books as my team progress.

I am in the works of planning a low tech web based RPG of lone wolf. To allow players to have a single account to play all of the books and allowing them to keep inventory, stats and skills. Sounds like a worthwhile endeavor. You might check out the Lone Wolf Action Chart here on Project Aon ( www.projectaon.org/en/Main/LoneWolfActionChart). It does much of what you say, except it is Java-based instead of web-based. Also, it doesn't guide you through the text of the books; instead you use the web for that: www.projectaon.org/en/Main/BooksYou might also check out Statskeeper: www.projectaon.org/en/Main/StatskeeperLone Wolf Online Action Chart: projectaon.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=lwoacand Seth Turner's Lone Wolf RPG: projectaon.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=lwrpgto make sure you aren't duplicating efforts there. Sounds interesting, though I'm a bit confused... the Lone Wolf combat system really requires no strategy; given an initial Combat Skill and Endurance, the combat is just rolled out randomly, with an occasional opportunity to run away. I assume you are going to enhance the LW combat rules then? Or did you just plan to allow two people to have it out LW-style by rolling the dice? As far as I understand your question, I think the answer would be no. The main change that affects inventory is that, somewhere around book 7 or so, a rule was introduced that limits your number of Special Items to 12. So, although this rule isn't mentioned in the earlier books, it is common to apply it there anyway. There are also a few tricky rules about the proper way to interpret proper use of the Healing discipline, which is no doubt still an ongoing debate. However, this isn't a "change" that occurs across the books so much as a "clarification" on the way things are stated in Book 1. I'd recommend browsing through the forum here for endless information on such topics, or asking one of us to point you to the proper thread if you are interested in a particular topic. Otherwise, all combat rules and so on remain the same across all the books. Note that, once you complete book 12, the skills change completely because you are setting out to learn a new set of skills. However, I'd suggest worrying about that later... 12 books is certainly a lofty-enough goal for starters, I'd think... Even though your mom has thrown out your books, you can re-read them all right here! (at least up through book 17, until the rest are finished) Feast your eyes: www.projectaon.org/en/Main/BooksHave fun!

If you want to see an adaptation of the lone wolf fighting rules that uses more strategy, you might want to take a look at the Gourgaz fight I did from book 1. Let me know if you want to take a look:

Mentioning that, any plans for more? If you're thinking about doing one per book, how about the fight in FOTW where you get the Magic Spear?

I had some work done on it, but then I had to stop in order to fulfill commitments to school. I'm looking on starting again soon.

If you want a tester/proofreader, just give me a holler. For sure, if I ever get myself to work on it. I'm now in the middle of yet another project...
