You hurl the vial of gold dust into Kimah's eyes. "Arrrrrrgh!" The Zakhan screams, "My eyes! I'm blind!"
"How do you like that, jerk?!" You taunt. "I'll teach you to try to sell me for some crappy orb!"

You take the item from the backpack and slowly prepare it. The Chaos Master staggers backwards, its previous wound forgotten as it sees somehting truely terrifying
With a yell of 'For Sommerlund and the Kai' you lash out, and the Chaos Master yells in agony - rolled up Vassgonian bath towel, the ultimate weapon against evil.

I know you plan to start balancing for the Sommerswerd in each fight - are there any other items you will be including? Will there be items that don't actually get used otherwise that will become useful again (like the vordak gem did in the gorgaz fight)? It depends on how good my memory is I've played the Kai Series too many times, I won't be playing through again for a very long time. So for those books, it's basically what special items I can find by flipping through and by memory. There's a list of some of the unique items somewhere on this forum, that will come in handy. For fight number three, I'm playing on utilizing the Sommerswerd, though I haven't decided quite how I want to do it yet. Obviously I can't write a whole new fight for if you have the Sommerswerd. I was planning on having it give you bonuses in certain sections, and having a couple sections you can only get to if you use the Sommerswerd. The effigy will give you a much shorter fight, if you happen to have it. Fortunately, a lot of the armours add EP, and I don't change that, so I don't have to worry about them. I am, however, planning on having a use for the shield in this upcoming fight and possibly for the fire bowl. Other than that, it's anything you guys suggest. If there's an item you want to see used, suggest it to me.

Too bad that the perfumed soap can't be brought to the Helghast, the Akraa, aso. BTW Zipp - Will Alether be nearly useless in your other fights too?

What are the books you can get it in, again? I think I will allow the use of alether before combat, just have to remember to write that in.

I then may humbly remind you of this thread: Alether in Flight from the Dark(Ed.: Especially the post by Thomas is worth a look (seems to be a rather complete list of the ones found in the Kai/Magnakai series))

It makes sense to me that you could take Alether or Adgana before my battles so I'm going to allow their use to boost your initial combat score and, because they are so handy, add +1 to all Combat Ratios. I'll add that into the faq for fight number, but you can also use it for book 2, if you happen to have the hard to get alether potion from Flight From the Dark.
Is there any armour that adds to your CS instead of EP?

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how those should fit in. I'll probably allow some of them to use their bonus. The shield I'm not sure on. I think that's more of a "special circumstances" within the text deal. So you'll have another option if you have the shield.
The helm and armour will each add +1 to CR's, I believe. I'll have to write it into the faq when I get it back from Outspaced.

Due to wreck at the Gulf of Durenor you loose all your backpack items together with your weapons. A shield instead is quite possible. (If one uses a one-handed weapon at least.) Talking of armour, adunaphel didn't list my favorite piece: The Silver Bracers (+2CS/+1EP)

Doh. I was specifically thinking of those when I wrote it, too. In any case, you dont get the last three until Masters of Darkness, so you only have to worry about the Silver Helm and the Shield.

d is quite possible. (If one uses a one-handed weapon at least.) Which is why it's not allowed in the Helghast fight, because you have to use the spear.

Alright, the Helghast is in a finalized format (thank you Outspaced) and needs a few playtesters before it goes up at Tower of the Sun for downloading.
Outspaced, did you want to host it again at your site?
In the meantime, I will send it out to anyone who asks for it. Please attach your email address here, even if you think I already have it. And it helps if you put your name in bold, so that I don't accidentally miss it.
