Ok I suppose I should introduce myself. My call sign in all online groups and clans is Shrike. I first began reading the Lonewolf series when I was in 6th grade back in 1989. I quickly fell in love with the series and read thru highschool years. In 1996 I read the last of the magnakai books. It seemed to me that the series had ended there prematurely. For some reasons I cannot explain tongith at work I started to think about theese bools again and how it seemed that there should b emore. So when I got home I started researching online and discovered that there are in fact 8 more books, however I don't remember them even being published in the US and from what i can tell there are out of print so how in the hell can I aquire these bools without needing to sell a kidney to do so?

Welcome to the forum! Hmm, that's a tough one you posted there ... other organs are probably out of the question as well? *scratches head* Then it's probably your best bet to hope for a republishing of them - the chances seem to get better, with Mongoose Publishing's new Lone Wolf Rpg and all. No idea whether such a hope has any realistic basis, though. The only other thing that comes to mind is watching the offers on Amazon Marketplace, Abebooks and eBay with the eyes of a hawk, maybe a miracle happens ... The Wytch-King, who has a dire lack of New Order books as well

This afternoon , I was in my favourite second-hand books little shop and I've found the old french version of "War of Wizards", as new, for 1,50 euro. Re-reading it was a pleasure. I had totally forgotten the very dark feeling of this book with all its strange and chaotic daemons a la Moorc0ck pictured by Paul Bonner. I also had forgotten the presence of Agarash during the final confrontation and how Shazarak disappears in the end. Yes I know, you had a plane to catch.

Where did you got that information? If you have stop reading the series with the last of the Magnakai book (book 12), then you should know that there's 16 more books, not 8. The 8 books of the Grand Master series where published in the US, in a abbriged version. The 8 books of the New Order series weren't published in America though. If you want the books that are missing in your collection, then you can try to buy them from other fans on the internet. There was a thread about a web site where you can post your demands for books, go check it. projectaon.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=open&action=display&thread=1086993447

My bad I meant to say Grandmaster Adventures. I have all the US published books 1 thru 20 as well as the Greystar Adventures and the actuall story books was well. Its the pesty books 21 thru 28 that I MUST HAVE!......ohhh sorry there got a little excited. Anywho I have checked the EBAY thing and I see them for sale here and there but the bidding typically goes for around 50 smackers! (Damn the weakening of the US dollar!) That could get pricey if thats what it cost to aquire all 8 books. Thanks for the link though.

The other thing you have to consider with ebay is shipping. Sure, you may win the book for a decent price, but how much is the other person going to milk you for on the shipping? I think what I paid for all 8 books originally was around $650. Patience, persistence, and luck will be your friends. People who don't know about auctionsniper.com will be your enemies, because they'll drive the price up in some silly bid-war. KL

You mean that you paid 650$ for only 29% of the series? I paid the 28 books of the French version of LW approximately 10$/each when they were in store for a total of 280 of my poor little Canadian dollars for the complete set... Am I lucky or what?

I resold them for about 125% what I paid, though, so I'm doing good. I love buying them low and reselling them, and as soon as the ebay market clears up a bit, I'll be throwing some of my recent acquisitions (21,23,24,25) out there. KL

I don't feel quite so humbled now. I have this image of me finding second-hand copies of the New Order books when I go back home in August and passing them on at cost price to some deliriously grateful Yank who can't afford to the extortionate prices on eBay et al. I wonder now whether I shouldn't be so naive as to assume they won't sell it on for couple of hundred bucks...

I debated for months on whether or not to sell them, and furnishing a brand new $220k house won out over having a few books on a shelf somewhere. I had to sell my entire (almost mint in over 50% of the books) Red Fox 1-28 collection.
Up until that point, you can ask my wife, I'd just sit and stare at the bookshelf. So, the original intent was as you believed. The final outcome was the result of life.
I'd love to give them away for at cost, but I can't when I paid 8x-25x cost for them....

Well, they would certainly find a good home here with me in the States, although I have managed to get all but #'s 22 & 28 for no more than $60 each on eBay so far. . . not including shipping, but that has definitely involved several months and a lot of patience, not to mention most of my extra cash! Sure, rub it in why don't ya! Everybody just loves to laugh at us poor Americans who end up paying the outrageous prices on ebay. . .

My wife has a mint condition copy of 'With the Beatles' ('Meet the Beatles' in the US) which, as she never ceases to point out to me, is worth a fortune and which, as I never cease to point out to her, is worthless because goods only have a value if you're willing to sell them!

KL That is totally understandable. I know what you all are saying about how much the New Order books go for on eBay. Me? Every town I stop in I literally tear the used book stores apart, seraching through stacks and stacks of books, just hoping for some of the rarer LW books.

What blows my mind is if there is enough demond out there to warrant $650 for 8 books why for the love of pete has not some one reprinted these books? The demand is clearly out there.
