Not to sure if everyone knows this and I am just late at finding out about it - does take awhile for news to travel to the Darklands, but clicking on the link below will direct you to some very interesting infromation: www.mongoosepublishing.com/news/news_item.php?pkid_news=37Mark at Mongoose Publishing has stated that they are having an open day at their Swindon office (UK) on Nov 6 and Joe Dever is going to be there. I have already sent my email to Mark to let him know I'll be there! I look forward to meeting up with any of you guys who are going.

I am so jealous of you right now. Nothing could compare to meeting the master author himself. I told my wife tonight that meeting Margaret Weis would pale in comparison to meeting him....

I am jealous too. Damn...why can't he visit us Americans?! KL, does your wife roll her eyes about Lone Wolf? My mom does all the time. One time she was dusting my shelf and moved my Lone Wolf books and I got all worked up about it. I caught my kid brother reading my mint condition, Red Fox version of the Curse of Naar. Oh there was some yelling going on that day, I'll tell ya.

She doesn't really roll her eyes, she just kind of goes along with it. It's kind of like when a child runs up, excited about a rock, tells you how wonderful it is, and you just raise your eyebrows without ever looking up and say "It is? Wow." She knows how much I love it though, and what pains I suffered to lose my collection. Back when I had it, she knew not to ever dust or clean around my books. I was in charge of cleaning the top shelf of the bookshelf. KL, who is tempted to recollect all 28 Red Foxes....

NS: Wicked - look forward to seeing you there. BTW I'm not going to actually be a gargantuan, blonde haired ogre with a big axe and nasty dagger (securtiy problems) but we'll probably have nice cheesy name tags as it is Surely others must be going to this - we can't be the only PA fans turning up. I command all people going to post a reply.

Well, I'll be the 5'9"-ish scarecrow with dirty dishwater hairs, unlevel glasses and appalling dress sense NS.

As opposed to all the other geeks attending? After all, can you really be over 18-21, on a site like this and NOT be a geek? BTW, my favourite quote right now is offering someone something (like tea or whatever) and saying, "beware of geeks bearing gifts"... NS.

Good point NS but speak for yourself - I do not consider oneself to be in the geek class *removes all pens, calculators and other paraphernalia from top pocket* Rather I am one of the coolies - see look at my sunnies

Well. I'm an incurable geek. I never write anything down, unless it's on a computer or mobile phone, I am usually seen clutching various written matter and I don't need a calculator as I have one in my head... NS. [N.B. To pretend that this is on-topic, what are you wanting to do at the Open Day? ]

[N.B. To pretend that this is on-topic, what are you wanting to do at the Open Day? ] I'm new to the d20 system and roleplaying in this sense. To date my experience has been series like Lone Wolf, Fighting Fantasy and Grail Quest. The open day will give me a chance to see a bit more of what the team at Mongoose do and ask any questions I may have about the mechanics of the gameplay. Also it'll be a good chance to meet Joe as well.

Oh hell yeah, but it would probably be like two minutes with him and he'll give you an FAQ first to stop all the irritating questions we think are SO important NS.

Well if its only 2 minutes I'll take it. On that note I do hope that he wont just give a FAQ speech and leave, but you're probably more than right about it.
I'm definitely not planning on staying all day, so will probably turn up in the morning and take it from there. I know my girlfriend is already rolling her eyes about this and even had the nerve of saying "But they're only books, what's so great about it"
To say I was shocked and dismayed is putting it lightly.
