What the hell is going on? I was browsing at Tower of the Sun and then suddenly the browser told me I'd conducted a table response attack (or something) and now I'm constantly blocked from accessing the site (page 403). Just what is going on?
NS.
Edit: and my Tower of the Sun banner has vanished too.

Give it a shot now, North Star. This is a problem occasionally found when using forums, and often it is cured within an hour or two.

Aaggghh! The same thing caused the same problem. Although my banner hasn't crashed this time, attempting to leave a comment on the Darklands review caused the Sentinel page to pop up and tell that I'd just attempted an author's table attack on the site! Now I'm blocked again and it was the same, very specific action that led to it. What in blazes is going on?

It seems like a bug in the comment function. Send a PM to Winterhawk the next time you get in there. I think the lost banner must have been something else; now and then the TotS server is just unresponsive.

I think I may well do just that. Thanks, Thomas.
NS, miffed because he actually really likes TotS.
Edit: That's if I can ever connect again. I'm now blocked at home and at work. Someone (GB, BC etc.) please tell Winterhawk! Re-edit: I have emailed Winterhawk, but clearly something is up the spout if you get sitebanned merely for trying to post a comment on a review!

Oh boy, I really don't know what is happening to you right now...Maybe you have a virus that tries to infect websites? (I don't know much about computers, so this suggestion might be totally wrong)
Wait until tomorrow before loggin again, or try to delete your cookies. Who knows, maybe it will work?

Well, at work, I deleted all my cookies, all my temporary Internet files and reset the machine, but still nothing. Considering that I did the same thing at home as at work (and work has a very good anti-virus system), I'm led to believe that maybe there is a bug in the site coding at that specific point. *shrug* But then currently I can reaccess TotS at home after a wait and a shut-down.

How are you making out NS, still any problems? And did you ever figure out what was causing it? ~Relenoir, who hopes he doesn't ever run into the same thing. . .

Winterhawk unlocked me. It seems it was a mistake in the overzealous security! He didn't indicate that the problem had been solved, but he did say that he had never had a hacker!

The site is back online (2:00 pm, EST), but you can't access the boards or your PM account. The explanation of all this is on the main page. EDIT: 3:00 pm, everything is back to normal.

Well I'm having a problem where my IM folder insists I have 9 read and 1 unread message. The problem is that I can only see 8 read and no unread messages...
