Hey everybody, I'm a long time lurker/moocher.
I was wondering: are there other LW fans out there with a Sony Reader (PRS-500 or 505)? The other day I kinda took a shot in the dark at creating an LRF file (Sony's ebook format) out of the xhtml files hosted on PA, and it ended up coming out much better than I had anticipated. Not nearly good enough to post online, but enough to make me wonder:
Are there other people out here who would benefit from a nice, pretty, cleaned up LRF version of the books? I have been trying to come up with a way I can give back, and if there's even a modicum of interest I wouldn't mind taking a crack at it.
You'd be reduced to keeping stats by hand, of course, and the reader has no provision for generating random numbers, but the links in my test version work fine, so it would at least be a way to experience Lone Wolf on the go (electronically).
Sorry I'm limiting my offer to a device (or at least manufacturer) specific format, but it's the only ebook device I have access to...
though I do have a thought or two on the back burner of trying to generate properly formated PDF files (with links) as a way of providing multiple mobile platform support.
Enough rambling. Are there any other LW/ebook device fiends out there?

I think I could read that file on my GP2X, but I'm not sure. Oh... thanks for delurking!

My guess is that an LRF would not work on your GP2X. The PDF might, though. The problem with ebook pdfs is that they typically need to be formated to the precise specifications of the device they are intended for, and creating one per every device someone might want to read a LW book in isn't practical. If I were really cool I'd do something in .lit format or something, but most of my expertise come from messing around with the format that my reader is most happy with.

A decent PDF file would open up your potential audience a good bit, as anyone with a GP2X or hacked PSP would be able to use it. DS owners already have a Lone Wolf program to play with.

That's true... the downside of PDF is that if you really want to use it as an ebook format, the page size needs to be tailored pretty closely to the specific screen dimensions of the device you want to use it for, muting its cross platform potential. Ah well...
