Hi all, I love the maps in Lone Wolf books, and I thought it would be fun to map out more local/smaller areas within the books, based on descriptions in the books. It was lots of fun, and I learned about obscure places in the books I've never found before (e.g. the Alether potion in Flight from the Dark). I also discovered that book 1 is easy to complete with the worst stats possible if you know where to go. I tried to make it more like a geographical map of the book, rather than a a full storyboard of the book. I didn't put all the paths on the map where the text indicates Lone Wolf got lost and wandered around aimlessly for hours (this is why there's no path to the cave in the NE corner of the map. There are actually multiple ways to get to it, but they involve getting lost and wandering for hours). I took a few artistic liberties where the book was being confusing with directions. The Northeastern bit of the map, in particular, is sort of a mess because there seems to be a lot of crossing paths. I put a path going across the River Unoram without taking the bridge because p200 definitely seems to be further South on the highway than p97, even though p97 is the battle at Alema Bridge. There's never any mention of crossing the river before p200, but it just doesn't make sense to me otherwise. EDIT: Also, somehow I missed that the river you go down is a tributary to the Eledil and not the Unoram. Whoops. Anyways, this is my map of the area in between the Kai Monastery and Holmgard: Attachments:

This is my map of Ragadorn, based on the descriptions in Fire on the Water. The map legend labels the main points of interest present in the book. You can enter the city through section 37 or section 194 in the book. EDIT: typo fixed!, but I can't figure out how to replace this attachment, so I reposted it below. Attachments:

My map of Ikaya the Ice Fortress from book 3: the Caverns of Kalte, with some page sections on major rooms. I tried to map the actual caverns of Kalte at first, but it was too messy and random, and it all funnels to the fortress "back door", anyways, so I limited the map to the fortress proper (as much of it that you can visit in the book, at least). My map from book 4 is the Maaken Mines (the one I posted in the thread about the map of the mines). I'm thinking of mapping the city of Barrakesh (or at least the parts of it you can see) from book 5, next. For the Maaken Mines, I put page numbers for entrances and some of the major rooms, and I took some artistic liberty in shortening the length of all the long featureless tunnels to keep the map from looking like simple dots connected by squiggly lines. These are pretty good! Just to be annoying, is there any chance you could go back and replace the handwritten labels with a font as you have in the Ragadorn map? Some of the labels are tricky to read. Other than that, great job.

Thanks! I do like the way the Ragadorn map turned out. I could go back and replace my sloppy handwriting with the typed text, too, but in the case of the book 1 map, I may just redraw the whole map if I can get around to it (I made it a couple years ago and think I could do better).

Wow and amazement! The first map is a splendid tool, not only for navigating, but also to get an impression of distances and to dampen the feeling of where-the-heck-am-I The map of the harbour city of Ragadorn was beautiful, absolutely magnificent. A lot of detailed drawing. Thank you very much! I did an old-school tile-map of the city myself on chequered paper, mostly so I would be able to find the place(s) where I could gear up, get a decent weapon before spurring onward. Regards Sam

Those are awesome!!! I am in awe of the time it must have taken to make everything line us so nicely and look so good! Excellent job on these!
p.s. little typo in Ragadorn map key "#12 Game" - should be Gate

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Wow and amazement! Regards Sam Yeah, that was kind of how these started out. I wanted a better idea of what was going on, geographically, and I thought, especially in Ragadorn's case, that it could look pretty cool, too. p.s. little typo in Ragadorn map key "#12 Game" - should be Gate D'oh!

Are there any other towns in the LW series that there's enough information to do a map of? I presume there is too much of Varetta we don't know about to do much with, but maybe the likes of Tharro, or the maze of Kazan-Oud would be doable? (I'm just being greedy now!)

I just tried to map out Barrakeesh, but there's not really enough, so I'll just draw a little map of the palace for book 5. I'm looking forward to doing Kazan-Oud. Off the top of my head, I thought the sewers/catacombs beneath Tekaro were probably the only part of book 6 laid out enough to actually map, but I'll take another look at the other towns in it.
