Dear Sirs,
first of all congratulations in reviving the Joe Dever Myth through your work.
I have a question to ask. In Greece the novels and the books of Joe Dever never came except for the first 6 or 8 gamebooks. So I have the following question.
TEXTIs there a book or novel that give clues about Lone Wolf's past? TEXTBefore his arrival in the Kai Monastery? TEXTWho were his parents? TEXTWas he born in the monastery? TEXTWhy was his name Silent Wolf?
Thank you in advance.

Book 11 gives a lot of informations about Lone Wolf's past. We don't learn anything about his parents, but we know that he had an older sister, Kari, and a brother, Jen, that saved Lone Wolf's life on his sixth birthday when he fell into the Tor river. Sadly, Jen died by saving his brother. There's also the mention of the name of the village where Lone Wolf come from: Dage. Check here for the exact quotation: www.projectaon.org/xhtml/lw/11tpot/sect175.htmAs for why did he was called Silent Wolf, well, maybe it is because he was a shy guy?

The Legends of Lone Wolf novels fill in a lot of the background information, some of it even sanctioned directly by Dever himself. While some of us dislike many of the characters in the series, the first book in particular, Eclipse of the Kai, tells us a lot about Lone Wolf's early life, and I'm fairly sure it all came from Joe Dever. Lone Wolf was originally born in Dage, a village on the River Tor in northern Sommerlund, as mentioned above, and his birth-name was Landar. He was accepted into the Kai Monastery shortly after the death of his older brother, whose passing had changed him from a happy, carefree child into a quiet, brooding one. Thus he was given the name Silent Wolf--quiet and introspective, but very capable in combat. If you are interested in getting hold of English-language versions of the Legends series, you can buy them direct from the author John Grant here: hometown.aol.com/thogatthog/specialoffers2.htmlHope it helps.

Lone Wolf was originally born in Dage, a village on the River Tor in northern Sommerlund. Does it appears on the map of book 19 where there is all the names of the villages in Sommerlund?

Does it appears on the map of book 19 where there is all the names of the villages in Sommerlund? Sadly not Perhaps it is too small to be on the map? However, the villages of Stonefurrow, Meadowood, Oaks Hill and Searsby, all of which are mentioned in the Magnamund Companion are all on there.

One interesting question:
What became of Dage after the Darklord Invasion (FFTD)? And an even worse thought: could the answer explain why it does not appear on the Book 19 map?

10 miles south of Toran? Is it possible that it's the village Banedon rides through in Dawn of the Darklords? Or is that village actually given a name?

The village Banedon rides through in Dawn of the Darklords is called Meadowood, and is on the map for Wolf's Bane. I think Dage is mentioned somewhere as being more of a hamlet than a village, perhaps in Eclipse of the Kai, which may account for why it isn't shown on the map of Sommerlund.

Ten miles south of Torin does conveniently place Dage very close to the Kai Monastery. On the other hand, Sommerlund is not really all that large.

Well, not from Toran to Holmgard, maybe, but when you add in Ruanon it stretches a fair way.

That's only to be expected. In mediaeval settings, information does not travel fast. Of course, since Joe does not see Magnamund as ever being industrial, countries will probably just stay the same as they are now.
