Yeah, it's kind've a bizzare time to take a two week vacation. Really keep an eye on that one, get the agreement in writing, get an adress, ask for the refund right away. I hate to sound untrusting, but I've had the same scam pulled on me. Two weeks vacation, never here of them again.

Well, in the UK, we've already had half-term and Easter won't be for another fortnight or so.

Else i still have over 20 Days left for Paypal Buyer Protection.

Just remember, that if he is delaying by two weeks, that is a full two-thirds left of your protection. I may be cynical, but it still sounds like either a slick con or something too absent-minded to be trusted!

In ebay I don't remember 300 being that many points. Weren't there people with like, 3000 points?
Anyways, not to freak you out or anything. He probably is just taking vacation. But you can never be too careful around these things. I've been buying a lot of older things lately, to try and recreate my childhood. That means I have to get a lot of things used, and the last two things I've purchased I got a little screwed on.

Wow, einsamerwolf, did you get the book in an auction in Singapore not so many days ago? I was watching that item quite carefully, for it was my remaining LW book to finish the collection...
I have dealt with that seller in the past, actually purchased from him 4 NO books. He was quite a reliable seller. I don't know if that's the case of your copy, but somehow there are a lot of Singapore bargain bookstores carrying some remainder LW books (none of them sells online, though, I have searched the whole net in English and Chinese), so they are new copies and it's quite common for some Singapore sellers to acquire some NO books and put them int he net periodically, so it's quite possible that he did not see the misprint issue, as it would not be a copy he owned and used .

You can usually get a feel for someone who's got a feedback rating over 50, and has a decent history as a seller specifically. And AndyR's testimony doesn't seem to indicate the seller is trying to stiff you either. ~Relenoir, who is NOT the seller.

I wish i would. This auction ended cheaper than mine. Haven"t bought from the Gnome (yet) actually i am missing 40 sections Very interesting. Thought something like this. Sure those other seller doesn"t knows about the value? Maybe i have to take some holidays there... also i can find there some rare Magic Trading Cards so may be the travel would be cheaper than buying it over Ebay.

@ einsamerwolf...
well, my deduction of these remainder sales continuing is that the books I get from Singapore have remainder stickers on the back (not the original price stickers, but new ones, crisp and white, for relabelling), mostly from popularbooks, a big chain which sales lotsa remainders and bargains. They have an internet store but only the new stock is there, I guess they just have a basementful of old odds and ends, like some chain bookstores do here. Also, it is funny to see that in 1 year or so, between 4 and 5 sellers from Singapore come out with a steady supply of NO books! Also, most of them sell NR, so they must have acquired it at a good price, otherwise they would risk losing money (I got LW23 and 24 for around $50, which is peanuts). So, there must be a secret trove there...
You do run into sellers who don't know what they have. My mint copy of LW27 came from a cat supplies business in Australia which sold remainder books on the net for extra funding. Type "sejanoz" in google once a day for a whole year and you can get a surprise!

I remember spending weeks sending emails to a bunch of libraries, publishing companies, and book stores. I only heard back with a positive response from one publisher/distributor in the U.K. (Random House I think) who had a copy of #28 hanging around the office. She said she'd send it to me as long as I paid shipping. I emphatically replied 'yes', but never heard back. Then a couple months later, she wrote saying she was sorry for not getting back to me sooner, and sent me it for free! ;D

my copy of the red fox #28 came with the wrong map (blanket mistake confirmed here), larger font size and font space, and ONLY 300 ENTRIES(!!!!)
is it proper? why are there only 300 entries for #28 when the norm is 350?
