I've been having a look through 17: The Deathlord of Ixia and I came across this beautiful typo in Section 131:
"Massive psychic assault" isn't the word! ;D

Hey, maybe it was deliberate? After all, 100 EP of psychic damage will kill you just as quick as a falling mast. . . It does ask if you survive to turn to the next section, not assuming that you do.

Even if you are a super-munchkin (No, LW didn't throw away his Chainmail Waistcoat when he went to Ruel) I don't think there is a LW out there who can survive 100 damage. I think the ONLY way would be:
Take the 100 pts of damage and IMMEDIATELY use both Curing and Deliverance to restore massive EP to yourself just as you are getting hit. You could get 20 EP back for Curing, then get back 20 more for Deliverance... then you would only have to survive, like, 60 EP of damage.
You could have a natural EP of 48... then add the CMW for 52... then the PLW for 54... um... and the Silver Bracers 55... The Bronin Vest for 56... of course I am also wearing the Korlinium Vest which gives me 57 EP... and oh yeah, I'm wearing that old +2EP Helmet I found in the ruins of the Kai Monastery, so 59... hmmm... still a little short...
And oh yeah, I always walk around with a bottle of Laumspur with the stem stuffed in my mouth - and when I get hit by the blast, I flick the cork off with my tongue. Since we're talking Munchkin here, we will also say that it is the +5 Laumspur from Vonotar's ice fortress.

Hey Sol, why wouldn't you just use that nice silver flask from book 11 that has 2 tasty gulps of healing, not to mention that you would have (of course !) ground up the oede herb and added it to the mix, for a grand total of about 20 EP by downing the whole thing! How's that for mega-munchkining! ;D

You know, real Munchkins like to replay Book 5 again and again to stock up on the Oede Herb... don't continue until that backpack is full!
Zakahn: "Oh no, not again!" Maok: "Don't worry, I've got sleepdarts..." Zakahn: "It didn't work the last 6 times..." Maok: "On my honour, this time I will capture him alive!"
LW: "I'm here" (holds up Backpack like a trick-or-treat bag) "Where's my Oede Herb?" Banedon: "Yeah, this stuff makes the best brownies."

Yes, but I am pretty sure this would be considered cheating. ;D

I used to wonder, though seriously, if it would be OK to play the books out of order... I guess the series doesn't lend itself to this - although wouldn't that Vordak in Book 1 be surprised to see the Sommerswerd coming at him!

Too bad that wouldn't work! By playing book 12 before book 1, you could save the entire Kai Order by destroying the Darklords before they destroyed the Kai Monastery. Wishful thinking I guess.

"Lone Wolf, we need you to take a trip to Durenor and retrieve the...the...how the *BEEP* did you get the Sommerswerd?" "Well, when I killed Naar thirty-odd years from now, the Shadow Gate sent me back in time. I would have stopped the massacre, but I was exhausted from the bus ride out of Tahou...."

Yes.... Step *away* from the temporal paradox! Then again, stepping off Guildmaster Banedon's skyship, only to have to rescue a pimply young mageling in the Ruins of Raumas, WOULD be a little silly! NS.

NS,
Yah - that would be pretty poor. Eyaah! OR...
throwing Vonotar into the Daziarn and then finding him still alive aboard the flagship of the Ghost Ship!
