Since hearing more about those guys on the podcast I've felt guilty about killing them, but if you don't you've to fight a kalkoth to get a blue stone triangle which ends my game every time! Is there anywhere else to get the triangle?

Is there anywhere else to get the triangle? In the two versions that I have, I think that the elders are the only way. I am not sure if they appear if uou get the hardest route. I ever get the easier one, and you find them after passing the icy river. In the original version, if you didn't kill them, you had to fight the two headed serpent with venom (I don't remember its name), because you don't have the firesphere. So, killing them and using the Kalte firesphere made things a lot easier.

I just noticed that Psi-surge has been boosted. In the DE, you only need to deduct 1 ENDURANCE for every round of combat in which you use it, instead of 2 as in earlier editions.)
I don't have book 12 yet, so I can't say how this affects the improvement at the Archmaster level.

Is there anywhere else to get the triangle? Yes, on the glacier route, there's a way to just pick one up off the ground, without having to fight anything. Hi all - new member here! Just getting back into Lone Wolf after some years, having been a fan since the start, as a spotty, nerdy teenager, way back in 1984. (Yep - I'm that old! ) Anyway - I've decided to restart my collection with the definitive editions in paperback, and I've collected 1-10 and played through these.... so, now I either have to wait for the paperback versions of 11 and 12 to be released, pick up the hardback versions - or continue my campaign using Project Aon. I'm an impatient so-and-so, and have decided to take the latter option (though I'll probably start again once they are released and then switch to Project Aon for the GrandMaster and New Order series). Enough ramble, my question is this.... Does anybody yet have a list of the changes made to the Definitive Editions of books 11 and 12? I'm only really interested in gameplay and balance changes at this point - I can wait for changes like additional text and the lore sections at the back. I'd just really like to be consistent with my campaign and apply the DE changes when I play books 11 and 12 via Project Aon. Thanks in advance, and thanks for letting me join in here .

Book 12
DE changes the roll to follow the Kagonite Chainmail path so every Sack of Silver in your backpack reduces the result by 1 (ie:6 sacks to guarantee the roll if you’ve completed books 6-11).
Anyone remember where you get Sacks of Silver?
Bonus from Silver Bracers won’t stack with either Shield, Sleeve Shield, or Wrist and Finger Guards. And bonus from Bronin Vest doesn’t stack with Zhengascale Brigandine??? (Don’t remember that one)

Presume Zhengascale Brigandine is a new item for the DEs (I only have book 1 of the DEs as I don't have the space for them so am waiting for the kindle versions). By the way, do you know if you still lose the dagger of vashna in book 9 if you throw it? Was wondering if it was changed since it's now canon it goes walkabouts in book 16.

Text doesn’t explicitly mention the fate of the Dagger after throwing it at the end of book 9. I think I might actually have mandala'd myself here lol. It's not lost in the PA version and there's no suggestion in the footnotes it was tweaked. It's been decades since I actually chose to throw it so I think I'm just dumb

Been a while since I was last on here. Didn't realise the forum that Holmgard Press directed to was here. So, changes. To maximise my chances of getting through book 9 when I was on an ironman playthrough, I generally felt there were 2 choices. Leave the sommersword at the monastery as I felt the chances of meeting a Darklord were low, thus allowing me to throw the dagger.... Or, making sure I had the lorecircles of fire & spirit for +4CS and +5EN by the time I started Bk 9. Which annoyed me as I didn't really want to play LW as a Psionic warrior, I did usually like to have a few wildnerness skills for a ranger type character. Are these 2 extremes still necessary?

No, that’s no longer necessary unless you have a low starting CS. Zakhan is a little weaker. Circle of Solaris has been buffed to +2CS, +3EP. At least one more Alether +4 has been added (Book 8). So you can use one for both Zakhan & Chaos Master. Other non-Sommerswerd weapons are available which boost CS a lesser amount if you choose not to bring the SS. And it’s been clarified if you escape from the jail with Sogh you lose your weapons and weapon like special items until the end of the book. Thus, you can force an easier fight with the Zakhan without “cheating” and leaving the SS at home. Also Chaos-master has been changed so you get +1CS per lore circle you’ve completed, as opposed to +2 for spirit only. In addition, Psi-Surge has been changed from -2 EP/round to -1 EP/round, which makes Chaos master much easier. With all the adjustments throughout the DE series, I was able to use the SS to beat both Zakhan & Chaos-master without completing the Lore Circle of Spirit for either (I took Curing early for the new herb pouch, then Pathsmanship+Invisibility).
