I've just died in my first playthrough of the Dusk of Eternal Night I must say, the writing style is quite different from previous books by Joe. Not in a bad way, just different. For sure, this book is quite epic. (spoller alert) I felt a shiver down the spine when Lone Wolf entered the fray against Vashna. Just, epic!
I would like to ask about the Kai ranks I read in this book. It's the first time I've ever read them, nor in previous books neither around. And I've read all the books.
Any explanations around about the Kai Ranks mentioned in the book?

Well there are 4 main levels in the Kai Order * Kai Lord / Apprentice * Kai Master * Kai Grand Master / Magnakai * Kai Supreme Master
Kai Lords consist of the majority of the Kai order. This is the level of Lone Wolf in the Kai serie. They have basic level skills (the ones in the fist 5 books). Kai Masters are fully trained Kai Warriors that have access to more advanced skills (in addition to the basic ones) and are able to train Kai Lords. This is the level of Lone Wolf in the Magnakai serie. Kai Grand Masters are extremely skilled Kai Masters, they are almost like demi-gods and have access to the most powerful skills. This is the level of Lone Wolf in the grand master serie and of your character in the New Order serie. There is only a handful of Kai Grand Masters in the New Order serie. And before them there were only 2: Lone Wolf and Sun Eagle (who lived hundreds of years before Lone Wolf). They can command large groups of Kai Lords and Masters in combat. Kai Supreme Master is the maximum level of a Kai Lord. Only Lone Wolf have ever attained this level so far....
Then between each main levels, there are sub-levels. They are mostly used in the books to specify the number of skills your character has access at the beginning of the adventure. They also provide some boosts to already selected skills.

Yes, these ones I know I do not have under hand the book now, but in the book are mentioned at least a couple of different Kai-related titles. And they are not the Kai-related levels, like Master or Grandmaster.

Kai levels: linkMagnakai levels: linkNew Order Grand Master levels: link (I've omitted the original GM levels because they have been superceded by the NO GM levels) Otherwise, if you can give us a clear example of what you mean, we might be able to help you.
