Years ago, my uncle got me Book 1 of this series, and introduced me to this world.
Now, I get to be the uncle, and introduce my nephew to the world of Lone Wolf.
I just don't know if I should get a box set of books 1-5, or just do what my uncle did and just get book 1.
On the one hand, I never got to continue the adventure past the first book before this site, since I could never find any of them. It would be easier for him to continue the adventure if he had other books.
On the other hand, there's always a chance that he will dislike it or not get how to play, and the other books will be a waste of money.
What do you think?

I don't think that the first five books are too expensive for a gift. And, as any other gift, you don't know if he is going to like them.
Tl;dr: I would buy the set of the first five books.

I recommend buying him books 1-2-3. They're basically a trilogy. If in doubt, buy him first Book 2. It's a real hook for kids, with the journey, the mystery about who wants to kill you, the Helghast and of course, the Sommerswerd and the incredible naval battle against the zombies. If your nephew enjoys the adventure, he will also enjoy the rest of the series. Book 1 is of course important, but not that exciting for a first time reader compared to book 2.
