I was going to say... you live in a country the size of California with four distinct nationalities who all tend to shoot spitballs at one another whenever the opportunity arises (sorry if I'm forgetting anyone who isn't English, Irish, Scottish, or Welsh). That a country roughly the size of your continent does the same should come as no surprise.

But how is soda pop "juice," as it almost never contains any actual fruit juice? Because it must contain some sort of fruit flavouring, and even if 99% of that comes from E-numbers, there will, in most cases, be at least some use of fruit concentrate for flavouring.

You know that these days they can synthesize fruit flavoring entirely from coal tar and stuff, right? That's what it means when the little label says "artificial flavor"; it contains the exact set of organic esters and things you need to make something taste like strawberries (which they've got down to a pretty exact science).
Of course, when it says "natural flavors", that means it contains *exactly the same esters* that they would have made from petroleum products and store-bought chemicals, only *instead* they very carefully extracted them out of real plants (*only* the flavors, leaving behind all the nutrients and stuff) so the law would allow them to say "natural flavors".
