Allright, I just made a test. After writing all my stats on a paper, I closed Internet Explorer and went directly to the Temporary Internet Files folder. There, I deleted all the things that were inside this folder. Then, I reopened Explorer and went to the statskeeper...to find out that my saved game was lost again! So, my conclusion is don't delete the files inside that folder until you finish playing all the books or don't let your computer delete them for you. If you want to make a cleaning, write your stats on a paper before doing that. I wish that it will help you all. PS: I just made the same test but instead of deleting the Temporary Internet Files, I deleted the cookies. Again, the saved game was lost. So don't delete the cookies either.

Black Cat - It took me a while to realize this as well so don't feel bad.

It isn't to do with the temporary internet files. I tried to save a game today, then exited the site and IE. I immediately returned and the save was gone.

Well, maybe it's your computer who doesn't keep the cookies necessary to save the game correctly?

I don't have problems with cookies on anything else. I guess I'll just have to note the scores before I exit the game.

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems, and wish I could offer some help. I haven't had any problems with StatsKeeper at all except when I've forgotten to save the game.

So in other words, if I save all cookies, and save all Temporary Internet Files, the savegames should still be there the next time I open the Statskeeper?

/me dons asbestos-free flame suit I am the developer of the much-maligned StatsKeeper and its random saved-game deletion feature. I regret ever using cookies to store saved games. It seemed harmless enough at the time, naïve me. I am currently working on a version that will allow you to export your game to a nugget of garbled text and copy-paste-save it safely in a text file. I'll try to have an alpha level version uploaded later today. I am also developing a XUL version (only works in Mozilla-based browsers) that should make it prettier and easier to use. If none of these float your boat, I highly recommend jumping ship and supporting the Lone Wolf RPG program mentioned in the "Related Projects" forum. You won't hurt my feelings, promise. -- Jon Blake

So the anwer to my question then, is yes. That's quite alright, as long as I know that the cookies are involved somehow, so I know why my savegames keep disappearing. May I suggest posting that information on the Project Aon page though, for everyone's benefit? Just to cut down on the amount of frustration and whatnot, for new people eager to explore Magnamund. /Chili A Mozilla Keeper! Yay!

/me dons asbestos-free flame suit -- Jon Blake Hey, we won't flame you. Statskeeper is otherwise great. The combat feature is excellent and saves plenty of time. Kudos to you.

The combat system saves ALOT of time. Right now I am playing through the series again. Yesterday it took me about 20 minutes to complete Flight from the Dark.

First off, a huge Hi! to all of the fans of Lone Wolf out there. I recently found all of my older books while moving, and in the middle of re-playing Flight from the Dark, figured i'd Google to see if there were any fan pages out there. Thanks, all, for making this an awesome resource site!
Now for the support question: Scenario: All books downloaded with the Base Package and the updated Stats Keeper. Playing book 6 offline w/ Statskeeper After the Archery competetion, I was resetting my End and noticed that my Base END was fine, but as I was adjusting the modifiers and final totals, I was recieving NaN in the modifiers and the total for my END. I adjusted my CS, and the same result happened. I am not able to enter in any modifiers and/or totals into the boxes. the Utilities section is also showing NaN and so is the Combat section.
Edit: I started the book over again with my saved game, and the error has not reoccurred. Many thanks for the import/export feature! ;D
/me sighs in relief.

Hi all
In regards to the Statskeeper losing save game files, the cookies and temp internet files may be causing ur problem, but i have also experienced losing the save game files when i use the 'Clear' button in the Taskbar and Start menu properties. This button clears out recently accessed documents, programs and websites, and twice now, after i have used it, my save game has disappeared.
So perhaps this is a solution to some of the problems as well. I also know some programs such as TweakUI automates this process everytime u start ur computer or whatever, so check this as well.. Hope this has helped.
Cheers

I decided that, instead to start a new thread, I should continue this one since what I want to say is related to this.
When selecting the "View Online" option of the Stats Keeper, you have also to pick the book for which you'll use it. The Legacy of Vashna is not in this list yet.

Hey all, I've been happily using Statskeeper for over a week, and got al the way to book 9. However, now when I try to view a book online using it, I get taken to an error page: -------- Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. --------- Anyone know a work around or why this has suddenly happened? I think i can largely remember my stats and equipment, though i'd rather get my saved game back! Other than that top site!!!! cheers, sTag
