I can't save using Statskeeper either, but there is a way round it. In the "file" menu, you'll find an option to view a printable version of your action chart. Copy and paste that into a Word, Notepad or Wordpad and save it to your hard drive. I do that after every book and the only drawback is having to retype the action chart if I die.

Call me a noob if you want, but I can't even FIND StatsKeeper on the new selector thing. I had to go to the Book List.

You noob!
I use the book list all the time anyway. I find it easier than the new-fangled drop down menu. I also remember when all this was just fields... Erm, not.
I never noticed that printable version option before. I did do the same though, but I typed it all by hand into Notepad. How silly.

Statskeeper is included in every book, so you should not need to download it separately! This change was introduced together with the new download page.
If any of the currently downloadable books is missing the Statskeeper, please notify us.

I used this new-interface statkeeper to play Book 1. When I completed the book, I saved my progress using the save file system. The next day, I decided to play Book 2. Using the same statkeeper, I navigate to Book 2, Fire on the Water, using the hyperlink in the statkeeper.
What happened was my save file had gone!!! I couldn't remember my equipments that have been carried forward. So, I have to play Book 1 all over again.
And so, because of this, I always need to type everything again into the new statkeeper in each book whenever I begin a new quest, instead of using the same statkeeper to navigate to other books. This is very inconvenient but it is the only way I can do since my save file always gone when I reopen again...
Is there a way to solve this problem?

I have the same problem as everyone else in this thread. My save file vanished! I don't mind playing the first book again, since I only made it through Flight from Darkness before I had to save and leave, but bieng able to sve would help me get through the entire series, which I very much would like to do.
Is there a solution to this problem anywhere in sight? (I'm reading the books online, with Netscape 7.1 under Win98 Se, if that is anyhelp to anyone.)

@ Chili: As far as I know, our best bet is the program Seth is working upon; have a look at the threads collected under Lone Wolf RPG. (Yes, the name confused me too, at first ...) I'm not really "in the know" about that project, but if I'm wrong, hopefully someone will hopefully correct-- Wait a moment! All of you with the disappearing save game problem: Did you maybe (accidentally or unsuspectingly) delete the cookies of your browser? Just a thought, because I lost a save game recently because of doing that. Just realized that while answering here ... Probably I'm on the wrong track, but thought it can't hurt to mention it. And as I see that you are our newest member: Welcome to the forum! Have fun, and don't forget to post in the various "introductionary" threads scattered about ... Demographics here are quite interesting. (Talk about scattered ... The Wytch-King

Wait a moment! All of you with the disappearing save game problem: Did you maybe (accidentally or unsuspectingly) delete the cookies of your browser? No. Unfortunately not. I even went and checked to make sureI had cookies allowed and enabled, and stored and everything, before I posted here. I felt very smart for doing it too. I might start all over a-fresh and let it install all new cookies though, and see if that helps. But for now, I'm going to go look at that thread you mentioned...

I felt very smart for doing it too. Legitimately. Well done, have a cookie. ... Ahem. The Wytch-King

Starting all a-fresh with new cookies doesn't seem to help.I guess I'll save the printable version of my Lone Wolf as a Word document then.... just so I won't have to start all over from book one every time I want to play.
Edit: Okay, this should have occurred to me earlier. Does the statskeeper have the same problems saving if I download it all to my computer and read the books from there?

I've been doing that for a while; Statskeeper nuked my mid-12tMoD some time back and has failed to save a single game since (in both MS Internet Explorer 6.0 and Mozilla 1.6 - don't think I tried it in Mozilla Firebird 0.7...).
But it doesn't matter anyway, because I'm a pack rat with so much in Safekeeping that it tells me my Notes section is too big. ;D
Edit: These are local copies, though I think I've tested online play too with no luck.

@ Chili: Wait a moment! Well, this morning, I decided to play book 8 online. But, before that, I decided to clean up my computer, so I deleted all the cookies and the files that are in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Guess what? My saved game was lost! Luckily, I remember very well what I had at the time I finished book 7, so there was not a big problem for me to write back my stats ;D. So, with people saying that the cookies are not the solution to the problem, I say that the Temporary Internet Files folder has the answer. I know, they take a lot of space on your computer when you don't delete them, but one of these files is surely the one that is holding the informations for the statskeeper. That is what I think based on my own experience. Maybe it will help a few of you?
