When can we expect this?

Aaaagh! The forbidden question! I don't know. It's has not yet had all reported errata considered (and fixed where applicable). When it goes into the Comment Period (which should mean only a week or two left) I'll leak some info. Apart from all the expected free time that mysteriously just disappears for the key volunteers (and the general low number of such key volunteers), two things that make publishing these books take much more time than what one's expect are: - Our determination to publish very high quality versions of the books. If we'd just have scanned the books, corrected the worst OCR errors, and put them online, then we'd been finished ages ago.
- Our experimentation with various interesting technologies in the publication process. This is very fun for us volunteers who are more than borderline tech geeks, but perhaps less fun for you waiting for the books as I'm quite sure that at least the initial publication of each individual book gets more delayed than accelerated by it. On the other hand, in the long it hopefully pays off as publishing revised editions should go much smoother. And of course we also expect us to be able to keep the quality higher by applying these technologies.

You know, I'd love to help out, but I don't have the non-abridged version. Legacy was always one of my favorites.
This run-through, I'm still back at the Kingdoms of Terror. Cyrilus is about to get whacked.

I'll actually keep this on-topic for once. The Legacy of Vashna has actually had quite a lot of work done to it. Looking at the outstanding issues, about 95+% of them are Errata, meaning problems found in the original book. OCR and proofreading errors are now almost nonexistant, and most of the Non-Errata issues are ones that a reader wouldn't actually notice (i.e. encode "Gloar" as a spell, encode "Thok!" as onomatopoeia, etc.). So the version available for download via the Editor Companion (www.projectaon.org/editor) is almost 100% accurate to the original Red Fox unabridged text. But whoever edited it in the first place should have been sent on for retraining, because there are currently well over 100 reported Errata issues. I've also submitted a stupidly long list, and one of the editors still has (I think) 70 sections left to check. Once all those issues are reported, poor Jon Blake is going to have to wade through them and decide which to accept and which to reject. I don't envy him that task. So if if anyone wants to read the book in its original published-text form, they can do so right now. If you're waiting for a book that isn't riddled with typos, problems and inconsistencies . . . it'll probably take a bit longer. I was hoping the later books would require less work, but it seems to be the exact opposite, sadly.

Honestly, if you guys need any help that doesn't involve owning the red fox versions, let me know. I haven't found any listings on your site so far.

I meant to reply to this sooner, I just forgot. The Legacy of Vashna is mostly worked right now. As soon as Jon has compiled a definitive list of Errata and fixed them, the week- or fortnight-long Comment Period begins where everyone playtests the adventure looking for any problems, so you everyone can look forward to that! However, with Jon being busy, and TLOV being somehat in limbo right now, I believe I'm right in saying that War of the Wizards has been opened for work and is in need of another editor. The version available from www.projectaon.org/editor has already had some work done to it, so the editor will have less to do than they might normally. For information on what the duties of Project Aon editor are, please peruse this thread: projectaon.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=helpwanted&action=display&thread=1086772704If that doesn't fill you with quaking terror, welcome aboard!

I'll go ahead and read it.
By the way, it's not the longest post in the world. Two words: Fan Fiction. Three words: My Fan Fiction.

Ah, Outspaced my friend, you must mean me! I have been sorely lacking in time do to increasing school obligations (look how few posts I've made in the last couple months) but just got home from class with two weeks before my next one, which should give me time to finish those. I actually logged on with just that intention, but I noticed that one of the most recent threads was regarding TLoV and thought I should check it to make sure my work would not be in vain. I'm off to PA editor now, and hope to get at least 20 sections done tonight. The book is still on the table in here, 5 feet away and right where I left it two months ago. . . school is important, but it sure can be a drag sometimes!

Yeah, I figured you were busy, Rel, so I didn't want to go casting any aspersions, y'know! Only 50 more sections to go! BTW--for anyone who thinks things have slowed down, be aware that things are sorta happening "behind the scenes". This isn't much of a consolation for those of you waiting for the unabridged Legacy of Vashna, I know, but hopefully, the coming months will at least seem slightly more productive!

4 months after the beginning of this thread, we can now answer Ronan's question: TLoV was published today! Woooooooohoooooooo!
