... "If you eat a Meal, restore 3 Endurance points". ... Where's that from? Never read this one before. (Only special meals like Laumspur or the one found in Daziarn had a similar effect as far as I know..)

Hmmm. Maybe it was "if you don't eat a Meal, lose 3 Endurance". It was way back from my first read of Book 3, WAY back NS.

... It was way back from my first read of Book 3, WAY back NS. NS, all right then. If you're also playing something like FF, this sort of things can sometimes be confusing. But why do you need book 3 to make use of meals? If you hint to the use of Hunting, book 5 for instance is also taking place at a desert/waste. (BTW IMO Hunting/Huntmastery also can not work while in carriages, cities, or underground(tunnels/mines/other 'dungeons' ...).)

The Caverns of Kalte was the first book I read and I didn't take Hunting simply because it was icy all through the book. I kept suffering severe hunger pangs!
NS.

then there's another kind of ep lost, while trying to heal others.
when i play, when i lose 2ep trying to heal an injured friend, in the next 2 sections i healed myself back. is this proper.
also why is it that in the magnakai series you are not required to delete a meal if you have huntmastery, then in the GM series if you dont choose grand huntmastery as one of your skills, you suddenly lose your magnakai ability to hunt and must eat a meal?

Actually, you are supposed to consider yourself as having all the Magnakai disciplines (if you got them all while playing) once you hit Grand Master. The loss of ability never occurs. It's only if you never had the ability do you suffer any set backs.

Like Zipp said above, you maintain these bonuses. I always played it as once I have Huntmastery, I can find food anywhere unless the text tells me otherwise. Personally, I would consider healing others a fatigue issue when you lose EP from doing it. I would also heal those back with Curing or Deliverance, but not with Healing. It's kind of like EP lost to using Psi-surge, it's not combat wounds but still makes you weaker.

in the new order series, there's a section that explains your magnakai skills. in it, it specifically states that you may restore up to 10ep, endurance lost as a DIRECT RESULT OF COMBAT.
i guess this is the most explicit statement written on this so-called "differentiation" of ep loss.
*and as a result of this new 10ep max rule, i now find it a must to stock up healing potions, when as Lone Wolf, i never had any trouble with low ep ever.
