Why am I (though I’m assuming it should be “are we,” as I doubt I’m alone) constantly getting the “Too Many Connections” message when attempting to access the board? Am I just unlucky enough to constantly be checking PA at the choke point of the day, or is it more that, having upgraded, the board is now less efficient? Does anyone know?

No, though I have had some odd problems since the board was upgraded, not least the fact that ALL of the icons seem now to be stored on a webserver (i.e. a URL domain) I had marked as ignoreed in my generic HOSTS file, so I had to modify it. I kept wondering why I saw no smiley icons in any of the posts, just the ASCII equivalents.

I am having a number of problems. Here's the current list:
1) After being on for a while, I get the "Too many connections" message and have to quit out of the proboards forums. I even got this on the Silencer Forum, which is pretty much dead, so, it's not Project Aon.
2) If I enter a smiley using the smiley bar, my entire message gets copied and pasted immediately after the smiley.
3) the boxes containing the names of posters and the boxes containing the posts don't always match up, it makes it difficult to see who said what.

Well, it seems that they "degraded" the boards instead of upgrading them, as I have also the "Too many connections" message very often, mostly when I'm connected during the afternoon.

This is the precise problem I run into. I log in from work (you know... instead of doing boring work), and around 10 am PST it just gets bogged down and I have to go back to doing my job rather than reading posts here. That's no way to spend my day.

I agree with Dusk Fox, work is no place for work, and I have been having similar problems as well with the "too many connections" message

I'm having these problems right now, as a matter of fact.

OK, I've had a bit of a nose around, and I found this. Apparently, it's not even "our" fault on the PA Forum, but more likely issues with other users of other forums on the same server. Once they've stopped being silly, we should all (hopefully) see fewer of the messages, or (preferably) none at all.

I certainly hope that's the case. In the words of the great Strong Sad, "Argh, this is so frustrating! I'm getting really frustrated!"

I mostly work on mine at work and I just got reccomended for a raise because someone caught sight of it and thought I was organizing the server by hand. Funny, I actually told them that I was working on my book, and got reccomended for a second raise.
