This is not yet-another-Lone-Wolf-movie-thread. Or maybe it is ;-)
Seriously, I see a lot of people would like to see a Lone Wolf movie. I think we had better chance if we were doing it ourselves. We would be sure it would be of high enough standard. By the fans, for the fans, as they say.
How to do so? The answer is: Machinima.
Machinima (I spare you the obligatory Wikipedia link) is using a game engine to make a movie. The most popular is Red vs. Blue (that I personnally find utterly ininteresting and technically very poor) and among the best one, technic-wise are Bloodspell (Neverwinter Night 1 engine) and the Anachronox one (not exactly a machinima, indeed - the creator just released the whole cinematics in one big file).
What you need is: - time - skill (talent is good too, but skill would suffice) - devotion (both because of time required and the high standards expected) - a game engine - powerful machine(s) (how many machine and powerful, I can't say) - a scenario - right?
We already have a consistent scenario. I don't know if we need the rights (I don't think so). For the rest, we can share time.
Icing on the cake, if we choose our game engine correctly, we chould be able to upgrade to the game's next version (e.g. Bloodspell is made with NeverWinter Night 1 and I think it will be ported to NeverWinter Nights 2).
What do you think of it?

No. Just... no. Well... maybe. But Machinima can be so terrible...
Anyways, it's purely used for comedy, as far as I can tell.

Nooo... Let's do NORMAL fan movie! I attended university of music and movie arts for a two years (film editing) Zipp can make pretty good screenplays, Outs will be director and others will be actors.

The idea of a Lone Wolf movie is just plain wrong!
When you bring a literary franchise to the big screen or television it loses some of its mystique and dilutes the fanbase.
Some of my most treasured memories come from the images of Magnumund I conjured whilst playing Joe Dever's gamebooks. The last thing in the world I would want is for those memories to be mocked or sullied by seeing Lone Wolf splashed all over burger boxes and pencil cases.
Fan art and literature are fine, they help perpetuate what LW is all about but lordy pleeease, no film!
P.S Many here will probably not agree with what I have just said but I am just offering an opinion as a long-term fan of LW, please don't take this as message of hostility.

Shouldn't this thread be in the aux creations forum?
Anyway, I don't think Lone Wolf would make for a good movie, as I've posted before, because Lone Wolf is... alone. I think there would be a much better chance at turning the Grey Star books into a movie, since Grey Star has companions throughout almost every step of his journey. You need dialog and character interactions to make a good movie.

Make a film from a Darklord's point of view.

I would love to see a Lone Wolf movie. Why not? It doesn't have to take away from the books.

I agree with Imhotep... Only reason some people don't like movies that are based on books or what have you, is 'cause of stupid fanboys who think THEY should direct the movie. They don't say it, but I know that's what they're thinking.

You need dialog and character interactions to make a good movie. Well Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man features a main character who's alone a lot, and that's still a pretty good film. Could be an interesting change from all this epic fantasy to shoot it like a low-key indie film, though you would almost certainly never get any funding for a film like that (Johnny Mnemonic was originally supposed to be a weird black-and-white film, but they figured nobody would finance it, so they turned it into the pile of Hollywood rubbish that it unfortunately turned out to be... shame ).
