... I have Mindshield, but still lost the extra 2 EP. Problem? If it's already sorted in the upgrade, sorry.... lol should get sorted out in the upgrade, but once the new version is out, perhaps you could double check that it works as expected. (sorry, no idea when that will be, but I'm making good progress!) How do you bet more than 1 Gold Crown at a time in Cartwheel? I never even thought of that. There isn't currently a way to do so, but in the next version, it will easy to add that as an option. When you click the number you want to bet on, it will ask for the amount that you want to bet. Does that sound okay?

Yeah Dave, sounds fine. Just thought I should mention it (after I managed to lose all my Crowns). Edit: I just played through books 1-3 with SS. I'd forgotten just how slick a program it is. Looking forward to the next version.

The next version will be so slick that if you tried to sit on it, you'd slide right off!

Just a quick couple of questions about the new SS (And if it has been asked already, or already sorted - sorry.... ) - Does the updated version of SS have a individual game-save option? Reason why I'm asking : My brother and I use the same computer, and he discovered the SS I played. Now he wants to play as well, but if I'm busy with a campaign my campaign will be lost when he starts a new campaign. If we could each save our own campaigns it will be great. - With the storing of equipment/GC at the monestary at the start of each game, isn't more logical to save before you are equiped again? Example : You are at the monestary/storage place when called on to go on a quest, you just take the bare essentials before starting out, and are equiped as you start the quest. Thanx!

Emmers, #1 - Yes, the new version will have room for multiple profiles (5, actually), so that you can have multiple players using the same installation, or run multiple campaigns (to see the effects of different disciplines, etc.). In any case, Yes, you will be able to easily have a separate campaign from your brother.
#2 - monastery will work slightly differently in new version, and it will be easier to use and more intuitive(I hope). It will actually be one of the new Action Chart pages (I have several of those now. I think people will like the result - it will be very easy to use and oh so informative!) So, you will be able to do the monastery exactly as you described, or access it after being equipped, whichever way you'd like to play it.

Hi Dave,
I've been lurking on this site for about a year now *handslaps* bad me! But I finally registered and decided to post. I love the program, noticed that there hasn't been a post for a few months, so I thought I'd drop you a line and see how things are going with the program. Can't wait to see the new interface and options!

Things are coming along swimmingly, kalidrev! If you look in the "Progress Report" thread, you'll see some of the new features as well as a couple of the things that I have left to work on. Long story short: the editor is finished and it's *way* faster and easier to use than what I was doing before. I already have more than half of book 1 put back together. Once I finish that - I'll have a couple of major things to finish and testing will begin in earnest. If things keep going as well as they have been - we could be looking at the new version released sometime over Christmas break.
I'm glad you like the program. I'm sure you'll like the new one even better!

well, seems like a pretty nice program. works alot smoother than i would have expected. great job!
one thing i noticed was that on page 62 in book 1, you can take up to three swords, while only 1 should be available according to the text. oops!

Actually, because the text specifically mentions 3 Swords, I decided that I would let the player take more than one if they wanted, since it's silly to artificially limit them like that. It also allows "dual-wielders" trained in the Sword an opportunity to use their abilities to the fullest, without having to wait to find more, when quite obviously there are enough there. Ironically, of course, you can't even take 3 swords, since the most you can carry is 2 weapons. You must have picked up a sword and dropped it and kept picking them up to see that you can get 3!
So, not really an oops... Just keeping the door open for alternative methods of playing. If a player only wants to take one Sword, it's easy enough to just take one.
Thanks for the compliment about the program - the newer version is even nicer, and coming along swimmingly, so you can tentatively hope for an update in December/January. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Can I transfer my current stats to the new version once it's available? I have a base 18 CS, and I don't want to lose that.

Sadly, no you will not be able to transfer your character to the new version. You'll have to start over... It's a complete code rewrite, including how the character info is stored...
But, with new version, you can opt to start with 19/29, if you like. You actually have 4 options for starting stats: 1) Roll the numbers (By the book) 2) start with 15/25 (Hardcore rules) 3) start with 17/23 (Hardcore rules) 4) start with 19/29
With the 1st three options, you can possibly get in the Hall of Fame (if you also follow the other gameplay rules for those styles). You can also just opt for 19/29, as well as a host of other interesting variations of "House Rules".
Be patient, new version is coming along quickly - I hope for a December/January release.

Dave you've been working hard on Seventh Sense so I thought this would give you a good laugh, had me in stitches. Thank you Stumble Upon www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/185946Anybody with one ounce of programming experience will appreciate this request for Actionscript help. PS - delete this post later if too irrelevant

That is funny Some of the subsequent replies could have been a little more... gentle... but maybe the original post was in humour too? (One can only hope!) It is off-topic, but hey we all need a laugh!

At first I thought he had the images and just didn't know how to make them form an animation. Then, I learned that he didn't even have any images!
It's like when I was teaching myself how to program at age 8 by typing sample programs into the computer. I apparently thought the comments were what actually told the computer what to do, and was envisioning this fancy graphical application with moving characters and such, when it was really just a simple text-based craps game with sound effects.

I love the "Locked by Request" finish to the thread.
Not really related to Seventh Sense, but very funny. Thanks mckinstry!
You'll be pleased to note that I have the journal entries working perfectly in-game, as well as the display of Battle histories. Things are progressing nicely (Though I've got to stop programming from 12-2 AM... except that's the only time I *have* to program...)
