177 claims that the Black Key is a Backpack item.
285 (the page immediately after for me) implies in the third option that it's a "Special Item."
So which is it?
FWIW, most keys I remember are Special Items.

Heh! Well spotted! That's a strange one, isn't it? I've escalated it to the Mailing List. If you want to post your full name (or PM me with it) I'll add you to the list of credits for Book 10. Cheers!

Just as an FYI, this error is in the Errata in the "fixed" section, but 177 still says that the Black Key is a Backpack Item.

Yes, this is because of our confusing re-release schedule! Hopefully, we can get this working better, but it won't be until next year, I'm afraid. Basically, everything marked as Fixed has been done so in the source xml file, but that doesn't mean the changes have been propagated to the actual editions available on the site yet. The reason we hold off is that if we re-released each book every time we fixed one problem we'd be forever re-releasing the old books rather than focusing on the unpublished books. There are actually a lot of things marked Fixed for Books 1-17, and Grey Star 1-4, that aren't yet fixed in the released editions. But the next time we generate a full release from the source xml they will be fixed. Hopefully this explains our thinking, though I can certainly appreciate it's strange that we still have problems in some of the books from 2003 that we fixed in the source file years ago! As I say, we intend to revise our re-release schedule next year, though we may be able to sneak in a few re-releases in the seonc half of this year . . . No promises, though.
