In Book 8, when you are set upon by the monks and Paido is out of commission, you take his magical blue sword(in section 47) to fight the Helghast monk leader (only can do this if you don't have the Sommerswerd). However, in my looking at the subsequent sections of text, I can find absolutely no mention of Lone Wolf actually giving the sword back!
So, the big question, do I make this sword into a cool special item that you can pick up and actually use in combat? This would allow for the natural bonus for Weaponskill/mastery, as well as make Lone Wolf feel really cool for a few sections, carrying a super-cool blue magic sword.
I could force the return of the sword in one of the subsequent sections when Paido recovers, like at the end section 10, before allowing the player to move on. It would be weird to go on, I think, without giving his sword back.
This seems like a reasonable solution to me, but I wanted to get other people's take on it. Your input, please!

When Paido recovers he should have it back I think. So for me I vote for using it with cool bonus and then give it back when Paido is on his feet.

Well... given that the paladin-like Vakeros prize their blue-steel swords as one of their chief possessions, and that the Elder Magi keep the creation of them a secret, I don't see Paido keen to let LW keep "Ol Frosty" long-term.
Giving the nice bonus and then forcing the return seems the most logical course of action.
