My netbook crashed (probably due to running out of battery power) and now my current game is gone. The profile is still there, but resume is greyed out An Autosave/Savegame backuping function would be nice to have.

We might be able to get you back... unless you've already actually started a new campaign in the same profile.
The game does autosave (when you quit), and whatever your last save position was, is still intact until the next time you save (quit). So, you must have suffered some kind of file corruption on the loss of power - Sorry you lost your game! Let's just hope that's the only thing you lost!

Normal laptop/netbook OS goes down in sleep/hibernation when nearly no power is left but I got Hyper-V installed on my laptop that disable sleep/hibernation so it drain all the battery I think you can do manual backups of the profile files after each finished book just to be save

The game is really gone as i was soo silly to start a new campaign in the the hope i could access "load game" from there. It's okay, it's my stupid netbook an my problem. I would like to propose alternating auto saves. Normally games with autosaves use at least 2 alternating auto save slots. It's a convenience thing, as you can copy the savegame yourself.

Perhaps a better solution would be to offer an option to resume from the campaign file, if the regular resume file is missing, while the campaign file is still there. (The campaign file is the one that keeps track of what you had at the beginning of each book.) The "resume" file is the one that gets saved mid-book.
