Well, I didn't do a High Score run. On the previous campaign, I had picked up every GM-carry-over Special Item... except the Jeweled Mace! I then got to wondering if it would be possible to get all of the item collection meta awards in one pass. Turns out, it is! Behold:

The potion and weapon ones were pretty easy. I just stockpiled everything I could and I had met the requirements without much effort. It's the treasure/trade/currency one that's the real problem: it requires some really careful planning and some oddball strategies. Some items from the Kai series don't count for MK, and the Gold Ring gets demoted to a single point. I also attempted to get as many other awards as I could along the way, but kept my focus and priority on item collecting. Several times, I had planned out awards but had to scrap them mid-adventure because unforeseen outcomes got in the way of meeting the item requirements. Here's the full breakdown:
Book 1:Restarts - 20 (old route), 2 (revised route)
Disciplines - WS (spear), MB, HL, 6S, MS
Awards - High Combat (8), Heroic, Bounty,
Death DefyingItem Collections:

.(1:307) Hermit’s Warhammer
Items

.(1:304, 76) Vordak Gem
Potions
.(1:113) Meal of Laumspur {+3 EP}

(208) Giaks
(255) Gourgaz
(340) Giak + Doomwolf
(29) Vordak
(180) Bandits
(339) Robber
Synopsis: At first I wanted to get the Death-Defying Feat, but unfortunately, it wasn't feasible on the route for the other awards. If you want to do both Heroic and Bounty as well (or just get the Crystal Star Pendant), you need to do the swamp and survive the Marshviper without taking any damage. After 20 attempts (and that's including optimal RNT guiding!), I gave up and dropped it. I had an idea for a future run where I will have an easier time getting that particular award. It took 13 re-rolls to get Weaponskill in Spear. In hindsight, it's a good thing I bothered. There were a couple more restarts in failing the robber and roof jump events. That damn roof jump! It is the bane of my existance.

(60, 158) Halvorc or Parsion
(106) Spear Helghast
(332) Helghast #2 [need 0-4 on (31)]
(30) Zombie Crew
(5) Helghast #4
(128) Zombie Crew #2
(237) Helghast #5
(66) Zombie Captain
Synopsis: Between books, I stashed pretty much everything I picked up from the previous, gold included. Again, I planned on doing the DDF since I conveniently had the CSP, but I totally forgot you can't get to it from the fishing boat route. You can't have tracking to get the Gold Ring, so I picked Camouflage as my bonus discipline. Thankfully you can get exactly 8 GC to buy it by going back to the fishing boat after waking up (3 GC), plus the 5 from getting back the Seal of Hammderdal. Thank you, Dave & Co., for including the option to get back the CSP along with the Seal. Is it possible to keep the forged documents? They actually count for the treasure metas, but I didn't test to see if they could be bought, kept, and not forced to use when having the Seal. Thanks to RNT guiding, getting the gold I needed for the coach ticket (plus extra!) was easy via Cartwheel. There's one section of the RNT with a bunch of 6s, 7s, and 8s (3 each!), so I bet 1 GC every round on 7 and cleaned up. The first 2 Helghast fights went fine, thanks to having Mindshield this time, as well as the Prodigy-rules Magic Spear bonus! That +3 CS vs All ended up being my most-used weapon throughout the run. The one restart was from doing the Epic Failure. I got the real run done on the first try!
Book 3:Restarts - 1
Discipline - MM
Bring - Padded Leather Waistcoat
Awards - Bounty, Epic Failure,
Death-DefyingItem collections:
Weapons
.(3:210) Bone Sword
Items
.(3:218) Diamond [Special Item]
.(3:223) Rope [2 slots]
Potions
.(3:233) Vial of Red Laumspur {+5 EP} [need HL]
.(3:311) Potion of Distilled Alether {+4 CS} [need SS or WS]
.(3:156) Potion of Green Gallowbrush [need AK or Aspirant]
Combats:
(78) Baknar
(147) Kalkoth
(161 or 260) Ice Barbarian
Synopsis: The DDF was actually do-able on my route, but I messed it up! I took the Glacier route and was supposed to ignore the Ice Barbarians after losing a sledge (and an escort!) to the ice-bridge, but I scouted them instead so I missed the last point I needed for the award. The reason I didn't go back and do it over is because I was aiming for the dreaded Kalkoth bounty, and I rolled a K on the first round of the one I needed to fight with the combat system. I also picked lock on the Silver Helm chest with Mind Over Matter. Didn't let that good luck to go waste. Oddly, the Bone Swords you can pick up, while effective against Kalkoth, are past the point where any more Kalkoth appear! My first run, like last book, was to get the Epic Failure done, so that was the only restart.
Book 4:Restarts - 1

Bring - Shield, Chainmail
Awards - Heroic, Mischievous
Item Collection:
Weapons
.(4:350) Dagger of Vashna

.(4:302) Flask of Holy Water
.(4:302) Potion of Alether {+2 CS}
Combats:
(233) Bandit Warrior
(186) Vassagonian Warrior
(310) Vassagonian Warrior #2
(77) Vassagonian Captain
(193 or 260) Vassagonian Warhounds
(90) Bandit Horseman
(122) Barraka
Synopsis: I intentionally picked Animal Kindship just so I could get the Mischievous award. It's not often I end up at this book without Hunting or Tracking. I had to do the Chest Route in the mines since I wanted all the potions from it. Looking at the pickup list, there's 1 backpack slot unaccounted for and I don't remember what I did with it. Maybe I kept a meal on hand since I lacked Hunting and knew I was going to fight Barraka. I failed the 2nd bow shot on my first run, hence the 1 restart. No Epic Failure this time, as Eshnar isn't on the Chest Route.

(387) Drakkarim #2
(231) Drakkarim #3
(361) Drakkar
(316) Drakkar #2
(223) Crypt Spawn
(353) Haakon
Synopsis: Finally a Death-Defying award as planned! I also fought some extra enemies to get items (like the Herb Pad). I don't recall what I brought to this adventure, but it was probably just enough gold to buy the potions and Kourshah. I thought it might be feasible to pick up the 'Swerd-Haakon-with-3-or-less-EP-left award, but I ended up "K"-ing him on the first round, lol.
I'll write up the MK series later, in a separate post.
