So in one of the nastier, cooler moments in the entire series, Magnaarn uses the Doomstone of Naaros to bury Lone Wolf alive. Fifteen days later, LW digs himself out, his Endurance lowered to 15, his Meals, healing and strength potions gone. It's cool, but I kind of dislike the "one size fits all" nature of it. A Lone Wolf going in there with 6 Endurance points, no food and no potions comes out with the same 15 EP as a LW with maximum EP, jars of Alether and Laumspur and several Meals. It's kind of ridiculous, so I propose an alternate system.
When the cave-in comes, LW will suffer 30 points of Endurance damage. This damage can be reduced in the following ways that must be taken in the following order. Each Meal LW has reduces the damage by 3 EP (2 Meals reduces it by 6 points). Grand Huntmastery reduces the damage by 1 EP per Grandmaster skill LW possesses. Each potion of healing or strength (except Agdana) reduces the damage by its bonus (Laumspur healing EP by 4 reduces the damage by 4, Alether giving CS +2 reduces it by 2, etc). If your Endurance is still low enough to qualify, Deliverance can add back 20 EP (if LW's EP is negative at that point it still works. An EP of -4 added to 20 yields 16 EP standing). Veterans using the "hidden loyalty bonus" can use a similar ability in Curing if they haven't previous used it in Book 14. LW can potentially retain healing or strength potions but only if the above 30 EP damage has been completely erased. If after all the above LW is still at 0 EP or below then he's dead and Magnaarn has won. Remember that you apply the damage reduction in the order given above. First Meals, the Grand Hunmastery, then potions and only after all that should LW use Deliverance/Curing if his EP is low enough to qualify. If you happen to possess any Meals that contain innate healing properties (Senara from Book 11, Gnallia from Book 12, etc) you may apply those properties to the damage (Each Senara Meal would reduce the damage by 6, each Gnallia Meal by 5, etc).
It isn't mentioned in the books, but if you go with the reduced to 15 EP as per the book, I do not believe you should count your bonus EP from the Silver Bracers or Kagonite Chainmail. Magic armor is great but won't keep you from starving to death. So if you have the Kagonite Chainmail or Silver Bracers, you'll be at 16 EP instead of 15. With both, you'll have 17 EP.
