AD&D Monstrous Compendium? I think someone is pulling your leg. As far as I know, Lone Wolf was never released in 2nd Edition and certainly not by TSR!

It's a shame really - the main thing that puts me off the Mongoose RPG is that it's based on 3rd edition "D&D" (if you can honestly still call it D&D). But I'll leave my tiresome nerd ranting for another time.

But I'll leave my tiresome nerd ranting for another time. I bought it for informational purposes myself. As much as I love to roleplay, I have never once been able to learn a single system well enough to be DM, GM, Storyteller, what have you. And besides my girlfriend, I don't have a single friend in Eugene. So I couldn't play if I wanted to. Which I do. And doing it online involves me keeping with a schedule and knowing the rules better than I do.

I know how you feel, having spent years desperate for a game but just being too isolated to actually find one. Nowadays I have a few openings, but unfortunately all the GMs I know are seriously bad at running games, and the games themselves are either 3rd Edition or in one case a ridiculous bastardized version of 2nd Edition, with guns and the like.

Try out the Giant's place. Not only does it have a hilarious comic, it has tons of play-by-board games and much, much, discussion! NS.
