Hiya, thanks.  The thing that made me lean more to the Baknar is that the background is outside, and I think the Kalkoth was met in the cavern just before the frostwyrm. However the barbed tongue clinches it, I thought that was drool before, but I downloaded a HD version of the cover from Gallimard it's a mixture of drool and spikes - you're quite right, so I guess the background was artistic license. Will edit the OP in a bit, thanks. All the Lone Wolf interactions with the Kalkoths are indeed underground, with ONE exception. If you try to cross the Myjaviks, you get to face the Kalkoths outside with your three guides still alive, in section 180 www.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/lw/03tcok/sect180.htmEXCERPT It leaps at you, its red eyes glowering and its fanged mouth open to reveal a long barbed tongue, lashing towards your face. ‘Agh! In fact, reading this section, I believe this is exactly the outside scene (It leaps at you… a long barbed tongue, lashing towards your face) that inspired the artist who drew that great Gallimard cover. |

Made some changes: Correct monster attribution for the new Gallimard Kalte cover (thanks ixia!) Gallimard First Edition 1, 3-7 added Edizioni EL 5 removed (it's the same as GFE5) Lone Wolf Definitive Edition 1 added All the Lone Wolf interactions with the Kalkoths are indeed underground, with ONE exception. You've put the Gallimard 1st edition cover twice for book 6. Yeah, I'm still trying to help you find more information on these covers! Here's a funny one: the cover for book 22 by Edizioni EL, you didn't know what it was. Well, you already knew that it's from Peter Andrew Jones. But originally, it was not for Lone Wolf: it's the cover for 'The Heirs Of Hammerfell', a fantasy novel by Marion Zimmer Bradley ( link and link). How it ended up being used for Lone Wolf is a mystery to me. Apparently, the cover of book 26 by Edizioni EL was also for a book by Marion Zimmer Bradley ( link) Also, for book 11, the Red Fox cover (the one with the rats) was published in 1990( link)... but the very same cover was first used by Edizioni EL for the Italian version in 1989 ( link), just like the Gallimard covers were first used in French before moving to the UK publisher ( link). You had questions about the second cover made by PAJ for book 20... Apparently, it is indeed intended to be Naar on that cover ( link)! That's all I got for you today! |

As his site is so hard to navigate I had totally missed the Naar reference for 20. I thought that art didn't have its own entry - cheers for that! Basically Edizioni 22, 24 & 26 are PAJ art originally for non-lw projects (indeed so is his art for red fox 12) I strongly suspect that after paying for the art for 20, Edizioni didn't want to pay that much anymore and just licensed art he'd already done for other projects as it must be cheaper. Will fix my stupid error for 6! I accidently covered over one of the best pieces of LW cover art...  |

I don't know if it worth mentionning but looking at this pic posted on Facebook of someone selling his books ( link), I've noticed that the Swedish cover of book 5 has a green background instead of black and that the image is flipped. |

Can we expect an English language reprint in the near future as well? If you look closely to the DE, they all reuse the covers of the Italian version of the CE (except book 1). So this cover will be used for the DE of book 22, which will be released in a few years (the original announcement for the DE said that we were supposed to get one DE per month, starting in October last year... 7 months later, we only got three books so far, so it might take 3-4 years to get to book 22). |

They keep on coming! This time, it's Gallimard 5th edition of book 5! Somehow, the cover of book 4, which is supposed to come out at the same time, is yet to be revealed. No confirmation who's the artist, but it looks like "Djib" again.  |
