Hi all,
I'd welcome a steer from some more experienced heads. I am doing my first read through of the "New Order" and, although I am lucky enough to have copies of the original paperbacks, have been using the Collectors Edition so far. However, the updating of book 28 with the additional/'new' 50 sections have put me into a dilemma as to which version to use for this first run though. I am sure that when I get to the end, I'll probably go back and see what the other version is like but I have been scratching my head which will work best for this first readthrough.
So, I would really welcome your views as to which version I should use and, if possible, your reasons why.
Many thanks Nick

The original feels a little bit short because it only has 300 sections and IMO, is easier. The CE version is a little bit harder but doesn't feels out of place compare to the other books of the series. The final confrontation is also a little bit more epic compare to the original. However, the addition of the 50 new sections was made in a more subtle way than the 200 new sections in the extended book 1. It's not like they added a brand new and long scene (like the battle at the monastery in book 1). They added a path of one or two sections there, another path of three or four there... If you read both books back to back, you'll probably have the feeling that it is the same book (except maybe for two or three scenes that are very much different from the original).

Fantastic, much appreciated. I had a feeling that was the case and am leaning towards going with the CE. I still have a little bit of dithering time as I have just started "Fall of Blood Mountain" but will probably make a start by the end of the weekend.
