I'm not sure if Åskfågeln made huge changes like it was done for the LW series by Holmgard Press. I have found this on the old Kickstarter campaign they have made to reprint the series:

Joe Dever wrote the Game Books in the late eighties, but has updated the timeline and changed Cal Phoenix’s story to better fit in today’s society. The story takes place in a near future, (2033) in the new edition of the series.

That was back in June 2016, when Joe was still alive. I have not seen anything telling me if they have made changes or updates. Maybe a Swedish reader that owns the books might give a better answer?
