I just found this website and books. I downloaded the first book and the Statskeeper program. I am enjoying both of them. I have one question - Could the Statskeeper program folder be put on a USB drive so I could play the books on different computers?
Thanks.

Hi there Welcome to the forum; it's always good to have new posters! I don't see any reason why Statskeeper wouldn't run from a USB drive. It's just a javascript program, so it's not as though it makes any registry changes. Unfortunately, all the savegame data is currently kept as a web browser cookie file, so without copying that file over as well every time you switch between computers, you won't retain any of your saved game. There has been much discussion about altering Statskeeper to use a user-defined save file instead of a cookie, but there are no definite plans to alter this yet. The Lone Wolf Action Chart (also linked to from this forum) requires Java 1.5.4 or higher to be installed (if my memory serves), but that does save the file to a location of the user's choosing, so as long as all the computers have a recent version of Java installed, transferring the game and the save game between computers on a USB drive should be fine. I hope this helps.

If you wish to use Statskeeper in various locations you can use the "printer friendly" option in the save menu to produce a text file of all the character sheet info and stick that on your USB device, then type it into Statskeeper at the other location. This is useful if you can't use java or can't install software for some reason.
